I think it's the salary comment--you seem to think he is paid adequately, while philliesphhan seems to think the Phillies should have given him big bucks. Therefore, he concluded you hate him because you want to underpay him.

I don't want to 'underpay' him - (though rushing into long term deals when unecessary should be avoided) - the phillies followed the system and paid him what the arbitration thought he was worth...the system sucks. People bitch and moan about pat - but they rushed into a long term deal with him after one quality year, doing the same thing with ryan howard COULD have been a mistake...the phillies actually did something SMART in this instance and people want to say it's a bad thing.

If people think his salary has somehow affected his play, that's fine, but I don't think it has...

Well no, I just think he is having a fine year. August was really his only so-so month (and when he was playing hurt for some stupid reason in April)
