The Anaheim/Cleveland game in Milwaukee last night had a higher attendance than 4 other games...

Honest-to-god web gem by the Jeter against the Twins tonight.

Going out on a flare by (I think) Punto, he basket-catches it in shallow left over his shoulder without appearing to look, then immediately wheels around and doubles the runner off of second.

Felix Hernandez is just disgusting. Not much else to say about it.
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Tejeda had a bad outing. Didn't see the exact score, was just on Sportscenter

Felix Hernandez pitched a hell of a game last night, but you wouldn't know it, since some japanese pitcher pitched against a japanese hitter gave up 8 hits to other guys only struck out four and lost the game.

Man, the coverage of that game was nauseatingly one sided even after the damn thing was over

i think before and during the game it was all about Matsuzaka and Ichiro and all that nonsense, but afterwards, the focus (rightly) shifted towards Hernandez. He was throwing 97 with movement in the 9th inning. It was ridiculous.

what i saw this morning (my experienc eonly) was a lot of talk about Matsuzaka and his first home start and him facing Ichiro...they mentioned hernandez, but it wasn't as prominent...dude pitched a one freaking hitter complete game.

The best part was listening to skip bayless talk about it...

During the game, they went a whole half-inning when Hernandez was pitching talking about Matsuzaka and Ichiro! and so forth without once getting distracted by the 1-2-3 inning.

This kind of premeditated story is so typical of ESPN. It reminds me of Cole's first start last week when Ravech et al broke into whatever game they were broadcasting that night to update the Braves/Phillies game, and proceeded to talk about how dominant Hudson was in the first start of his (ESPN-ordained) "bounce-back" season, without mentioning that he was getting outpitched by Hamels.

In my in depth league, Nathan is my only closer, but we count holds, and I have 7 or 8 good cheap holds guys. I sometimes win the week with only Nathan as my closer, but I sure could have used a save tonight or last night when they blew it open in the 8th.

Carlos Zambrano had a good 4 inning , 4 scoreless, 2 for 2 double, homer

and then faces 7 reds in the 5th without getting an out
