indeed.

they win in the 11th on a shawn green-patented swing-from-my-6'13" heels moonshot.

The guy hits all of 7 HRs this season & manages to hit a walkoff on a gift pitch from 97-year-old Russ Springer, who hasn't given up a run in his last 10 appearances, & who must have decided "hey - he just hit a pitch I threw inside far enough for a homer, but foul - what will happen if I throw him the same damn pitch but leave it over the moist, chewy center of the plate?".

Sort of like Burrell v Llamafarmer, I suppose.

This was one of those crappy games-the-Mets-should-win-handily-but-instead-wind-up-winning-as-if-their-life-depended-on-it stinkers that's

a) not long enough to really chew up their bullpen
b) not draining enough to wear out a catcher or sprain/strain an outfielder.

I DO hate the mets
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Also gives their fans plenty to say about how inspirational the win was...they're coming together...the Mets are back etc., etc., etc......
Like Sea Biscuit holding back until the last turn.....more Reyes!!!!
....and yes F' the Mets...

Franklin gets the mets 1-2-3

More fodder for the race way

The people who went home early from the mets game are upset cause they are missing the match up between wagner and pujols...it's one of those 'matchups in baseball'

i laughed when he said that
every matchup is a "matchup in baseball"
they also had another gem which was "we talked earlier about how reyes can change the game when he's at the plate" or something along those lines
shawn green proved any player can do that
"My hip is fucked up. I'm going to Africa for two weeks."

Marlon Byrd with 3 RBIs with a couple hits. He's hitting .379.

You win 60, you lose 60, it's what you do with the other 40.

The tigers and angels both 14-4 in interleague, that's just sick.

The Mets are going to win this game in the bottom of the 9th, aren't they?

You win 80 you lose 80, it's what the Phillies do with the other 2 games that matter.
Check The Good Phight, you might learn something.

Wrigley security subdues and handcuffs this numbskull who made a run at Bob Howry after the homer.

Rockies score 6 in the 9th to take a 9-8 lead

B Fuentes relieved J Julio.
M DeRosa singled to center (Pie runs for him)
A Pagan struck out swinging.
R Bowen grounded into fielder's choice to first, F Pie out at second.
K Hill hit for B Howry.
K Hill singled to left, R Bowen to second.
J Jones ran for R Bowen.
R Theriot safe at first on error by second baseman K Matsui, J Jones to third, K Hill to second.
A Soriano singled to right center, J Jones and K Hill scored, R Theriot to second.

Cubs win 10-9

I know the defense behind him is suspect, but Fuentes always has runners on. I don't want any part of him on the Phillies...

I meant more when they had multiple runners on base various innings - got the same feeling in my stomach when the Phillies do the same thing!

Rangers pitcher Willie Ayre got hit in the right (pitching) hand or forearm by a line drive off the bat of Polanco. He dropped to the mound in pain. He has left the game. O yea, he caught the ball for a putout.

Tigers currently lead, 3-0.
