well, they won, but if that dog-eared victory inspires, so do beagles.
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Smoltz and Larry are supposedly taking shots at each other through the media, though neither has said the other by name. link

This is a nice addition to the race war going on in the Mets dugout.

3 series in a row that the Phils aren't able to gain any ground on the Mets

The Mets get the Cardinals at home while we're hosting the Reds. The Phils will somehow avoid Arroyo yet again...

Well, considering we lost the last two series and lost NO ground, I consider it a success.
Check The Good Phight, you might learn something.

We do not avoid Harang, which sort of sucks.

Anybody watching the Sox - Cubs game? There was a wierd play that included an obstruction (baserunner running into the shortstop) and a rundown between 3rd and home. The umps are still talking it over.

Watch for this on Baseball tonight.

OK, as near as I can tell, this is what happened (I didn't see this as I was on my PC and listening to the TV in the other room):

Runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs. Hitter hits, I think a ball to right field. It drops for a hit.
Runner on 2nd goes around third, then stops and goes back to third.
Runner on 1st rounds second, then runs smack into the SS, who's standing on second base.
He continues to 3rd, sees the other runner there, and returns to 2nd. He gets tagged out.
The lead runner gets hung up between 3rd and home, and gets tagged out.
Result: 2 outs, runner on 2nd, no runs score. BUT, there is the obstruction to deal with.
The umps eventually rule bases loaded and no outs, due to the obstruction. Sox manager Ozzie Guillen gets ejected.

Pie was on first, Pagan was on second, DeRosa hit a ball to right.

Pie was tagging, but Pagan saw that the ball was going to go over the right fielder's head. Pie was held at third, but Pagan continued to round second. As he was rounding second, he ran into Uribe and both the third base and second base umpire called obstruction.

DeRosa was almost at second when Pagan saw that Pie was sitting on third base and turned around. Pagan got in a run down and was tagged out. DeRosa got in a run down between first and second, so Pie tried to go home. The White Sox threw home and got Pagan in a run down and tagged him out.

The umpires ruled that once the obstruction occurred, the base runners were all safe. I don't know what would have happened had the White Sox screwed up the second run down and Pie would have scored.

The White Sox have scored 2 runs in the first 26 innings of this series. Their offense is absolutely pathetic. But Kenny Williams still thinks they are alive.

Something's got to happen. I'm tired of watching this. Change needs to happen and change is going to happen. When that happens, I don't know.

sounds very sure of what he wants to do
