oh i am a dope. the only way to use the presets is to edit image in-- select program. i thought they all just appeared in the presets tabs window. seems cool but is going to take a long time to figure out what any of it does.

Check this out. Maybe it should go in the art thread, if there is one.

http://techxplore.com/news/2016-04-deep ... trait.html

https://deepart.io/

The first link is an article talking about the program and the second link is the actual site.

What would you say to having your selfie turned into a Van Gogh or Matisse painting? That's exactly what you can do with DeepArt, an algorithm that can generate a digital painting from any photo. It is now available for the first time on a platform designed at EPFL.

A friend here took a painting he made and a photograph he took and used the program to make a painting of his photograph in his own painting style.

How hard is it to get used to manual focus lenses?

Might rent some for my trip to Yosemite. I just really want a wider lens for landscapes. My widest prime is 45. I have the kit lens still, think it's 18-54? Can't recall right now. Regardless, it's ok, but not great.

These would be 17.5, 25, 45.5 f .95.

I don't know if they would even work for night sky shots? I'm not good at those but I like trying.

sweet site man, and i really enjoyed your photos. That Banyan tree is a climbers dream.

one suggestion for a more streamlined navigation is to put the category links up on the header strip, perhaps off to the right. This way the font color doesn't blend with the main slideshow and allows you to jump around the site easier. Good work, keep it up!

Yeah good stuff. I have very limited portrait experience but I would be cool with philly. Do you have a DSLR or just shoot through Instagram?

Shutter on my camera broke today. Keeps getting stuck every time I try to take a shot. Not great. Pretty sad tbh.
