Here's the original sky:

Image

I ran it through one of my B&W Filters for lightroom. Then I cooled the colors a bit with split toning. In the B&W color mix The greens and aquas are set pretty high. Reds and oranges not so much around +20 or so. Blue's are set to -100. What really got the sky like that was pulling the blue out of the color mix and re-doing the blue with the split toning to get it to a cooler tint. I have two presets that got it done. One for the B&W color mix and another for cooling of the tint. I can send you over the preset files for lightroom if you want them...

Thanks, but I don't use Lightroom (I use RawTherapee for most of my post-processing). I'll play around with it.

Nice, moma. The first two are a little overcooked for my taste (HDR?) but the third is tremendous. The fourth is really cool; a sort of diorama effect (was that by design?).

Thanks ... The first three are HDR. The fourth just turned out that way. I think it's may favorite of the bunch. I think the first is my least. Jut couldn't get the color right. It's too saturated. I haven't done much HDR lately but I figured this last trip would have some worthwhile shots.

thanks. It was the kit lens, an 18-135mm. It isn't a great lens but I had expensive filters for it that are now useless if it can't be fixed. Rather inexpensive lens and I have been wanting to upgrade. Closing on a house this week though so I was hoping all my gear would last a while. As soon as I have my computer set up I will post some pics from Acadia.

A couple of Nubble lighthouse in Maine.

Now that I look at the first one again it looks like it has a bit of a blue color cast to it that I need to fix.

I like the third the best.

As you say the first seems to have a bluish cast, and I find the blues in the second to be a bit oversaturated.

Yea, I think you are right about #2. I will have to lok at it again. I think I like the wide angle of that one the best.
