First two pages featuring hhhhh wondering about Werth clogging the bases and seke2 beside himself when dajafi suggested Werth is a better hitter than Vic.

I'm glad I didn't start posting dumb stuff here for a few months after that.

Wow yeah, that's pretty embarrassing. On the other hand, Jemagee called "jason" werth terrible.

Responding to these 2 year old comments ... to be fair, I had just seen Werth be a douchebag to a 5-year old Phillies fan in spring training a few weeks before that, and I had no respect for him at all at that point. But man, not my finest moments in that threat.

provocateur is one word I definitely want engraved on my urn.

I don't believe mgmt is opposed to discussions of issues pertaining to governance, elections, the rights of man, etc.

I have assumed mgmt acted out of a concern for the emergence of yet another spate of what might have been regarded as uncivil discourse in the politics thread.

A difficulty is that peremptory curtailment of uncivil discourse is itself - well - uncivil.

The conventional tack is to have a sort of escalating 'disciplinary process', with advisories, warnings, etc, which permits a self-policing. trickier is inclusion of some means of assessing the 'citizenry's level of distaste for the tenor of an emerging conversation.

Mgmt is of course not obliged to behave conventionally with regard to this or any other subject, or in any other manner, for that matter.
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

I think that the whole problem is that we're not understanding that magic has rules! You can't just say "a wizard did it." It doesn't satisfy anyone's question as to why something happened. If you're going to have magic, it's go to have rules!

Would these warnings be sent via PM? That would not be too effective if people did not read private messages they received.

Why wouldn't you read a PM. It might be something important like you left the iron on in your house or something.

Has she been avatar'd before? I haven't seen this one, and my Joe West/Phanatic is getting old. I'll switch back if anyone else has claimed her (besides Wertz)

I've been at philliesphans for almost a decade now - but visit BSG more times during the day since a lot of the veteran posters from philliesphans are on here…

I was around for the birth of "POPO"…. not 100 percent sure how it started - but I know this song came out right around the time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laynXVsBulg

and it stuck with everytime Howard hit a HR…

am I on target?

Pretty much. That song was getting made fun of it quite a bit. I'm not sure if the first time it was used was an "oppo popo" or not, but I think Woody started that. Can't be sure though.

I think pretty much Woody decided that Howard HRs were going to be called popos. And I think this started at pp.com

Popo did start at philliesphans - just not sure of the exact date - but I was there when it first started….

when T-Mac first said "oppo boppo" - I (at first) thought he was going to say "popo" and we would have gone mainstream!!!!

This popo talk just reminded me of something. I made this a long time ago but don't think I ever posted it.
