Can't even remember the last time I had the option of receiving a physical check. Seems most places are direct deposit or a reloadable credit card thing.

Last time I got a physical check was in 2009, my first paycheck and they hadn't setup my direct deposit yet.

In the mid 2000's at the bank I worked at, they had a policy that you could only get direct deposit into an account with them (it was a small bank, and reason for this was that on paydays, they'd get all of the payroll into DDA accounts they owned and be able to generate interest on it). Normally this wouldn't be a problem but they did not have a branch where I lived and the building I worked at did not have a branch in it or particularly close by, their online bill pay sucked too. So I got paper checks up until about 2006 or so.

oh wait, i remember when I switched banks that I DID receive one physical check about 5 years back while they restarted direct deposit.

I may have received a physical check at a new job for the first week, but I don't remember.

We still get physical checks for travel reimbursement.

why does brantt always dodge the topic of paying me? i refuse to PM him (sign of weakness to personal message for financial help) but i have pm'd other posters and they got a nice payout from brantt. its been going on for years. how do you think bucky built up that mt. dew supply?

Also, Mrs. Vulture still gets a physical check from the arts council but they only have two employees and she writes them herself.
