Commercials with vibrating cell phones

Those fake/CGI hands in the smartphone commercials creep me out.

Calling customer service on a typical phone means pressing 1 for this, 2 for that, and your customer ID number. But you've got to hold that handset with the buttons to your ear.

I know there are solutions--the old phone we've got in the bedroom has the traditional receiver, and a blue tooth device helps those more technologically advanced. Voice activated systems also address this. But this happens to me enough for it to qualify as a pet peeve.

your phone should be able to work, just hit the right button. my last few have been ok with it, not sure how your phone works

Actually, on the point of grammar that is probably correct, but still annoys me - that stupid colon! I get (or assume) that the point is to read everything we say as a list, such as:

1) Plain Pizza Fascism
2) Solar Eclipses

but it still annoys the hell out of me. Throw in a catchy title! Pet Peeves, a new volume: Now with space robots and dinosaurs!

When people at sporting events leave their seats, then come back and stand on the steps looking around because they can't remember where they were sitting. "I know it was here when I left hmmm". Look at your $#@! ticket or have some common sense and remember where you were.

I've noticed a recent epidemic of cluelessness re: people and stop signs.

Red lights with turning lanes, a second light at the turning lane, and no turning arrows or delayed green for oncoming traffic. Such as the one 2 blocks from my apartment which I have to make a left turn at daily.

I hate when I call someone back TEN SECONDS AFTER THEY LEFT ME A VOICEMAIL and he/she/it doesn't answer

People who are excessively polite regarding elevators. There's the guy who always has to be the last one off, even if he is up front in front of the door and five people have to step around him to get off. Congratulations martyr! We got off the elevator slower and with more effort!

And the people who hold the elevator when someone is far away walking towards the elevator and there are always several elevators available. I walk slower if they do this to me. Just go up already! There will be another elevator .2 seconds after I push the button. I'd rather ride up by myself anyway!

And there are the people who let everyone off and feel the need to hold the door back with their hands. Just push the door open button if you want to make a contribution! Or don't do anything! The door is not going to slice anyone in half as they step off the elevator. There are sensors, jerk.
