I got it based on the descriptions of the countries. Only one takes up an entire continent. Only a handful straddle more than one continent and I knew Moscow wouldn't fit with the whole-continent city.

Seriously, no one remembered that we severed diplomatic ties with Iran in 1979? FFS, didn't you watch Argo?

Guy has 7800 and hits the last question daily double on a classical music category that he'd done OK on. Leader has 15200. I understand betting small if you feel pretty nervous about it but he bets 7k which STILL keeps him 400 behind. Question was a softball and he gets it and final jeopardy was even easier. Arguably the dumbest bet.

On Celebrity Jeopardy on Friday one of the categories was "The Pen is Mightier". No Sean Connery when you needed him though.

It's the last question and assuming you're confident (which he was given that he bet 7k), you have to bet at least 7501 to get ahead. If you bet 7k there you may as well bet 0.

I can give a little pass as I'm sure it's tough in the moment but it should be pretty basic jeopardy knowledge that being in the lead going into the final is a dominant position.

Tomorrow is my audtion for Jeopardy in Boston. For those of you who didn't see it when I mentioned it in the random thoughts thread, I passed the online test and was selected by random drawing to go to an in-person audition.

This will consist of three things: Another 50-question test, a brief interview with someone from the show's staff, and a mock game. Those who do well on all three are put into the contestant pool for a year and can be called to appear on the show at any time (or not).

I thought it went well, though the odds are very long. 70,000 people took the online test, 2500-3000 were invited to auditions, and 400 will appear on the show in any given year. More details later, got a long drive ahead.
