First place really screwed the pooch there, but third place wasn't much better. If you are in last, way behind two others who are close to each other, you bet conservatively and hope that the others go for broke and miss.

Born at the height of the singer's fame, too. God, I feel old.

If it's something science/sports related I'd basically double every goddamn time. It's basically your own personal final jeopardy question and if it's not a 1600/2000 one it's probably going to be pretty 'easy', especially in single.

More than anything else, there were two things that made Ken Jennings the powerhouse that he was:

1. He was REALLY fast on the buzzer.
2. He almost always found the Daily Doubles, and when he did, he almost always bet big on them.
The tournament of champions is basically the only time that people play the 'right' way.

The kid who won the teen tournament yesterday did. He was pretty far behind after the first day of the finals, and bet everything when he got a Daily Double in Double Jeopardy.

That kid was pretty great. Enjoyed his Final Jeopardy.

This kid kicked ass. Had his arms folded the entire time to look mean while doing it

Don't for get the sweet sweet fro!

It is funny too because that kid only got out of the first round because some girl didn't bet enough in Final Jeopardy.

Last night was the first time I've watched Jeopardy in forever. That kid plays guitar and is a huge Hendrix fan, so I was pulling for him. Glad he won.

it is even more impressive he won bc he had to blow the other two out bc he did so poorly the night before.

And he only got out of the SECOND round because in one match everyone finished with $0. He was the highest scorer among non-winners in the semis, so he got the last slot in the finals.

That's some Giants/Cardinals-level shit right there.

Take it to the "BSG quotes out of context" thread. Or the PiP thread.

so, watching jeopardy here at the "flophouse," as you rubes call it. this guy erik is starting categories with the $800 clues instead of the $200 clue and it threw everyone off for a hot minute. neck and neck right now, though. i say we're in for a barn burner tonight!
