It is odd, because it isn't easy to get to for most people, but I guess with a private Jet it isn't far from the Lancaster Airport, maybe 10 minutes.

If you have to fly to Harrisburg it is at least a 45 minute drive, probably closer to an hour.

Its there because of Clair Brothers who have been doing sound and lighting design since the 60's.

The Lancaster airport is "in" Litiz (not sure where the line is for the official border) and Rock Litiz is 5 miles away right next to Clair Brothers, so 10 - 15 minutes. That is about the half way mark on your way tot he wolf sanctuary up at Speedwell Forge.

The christian ampitheater is down by the Strasburg Rail Road, which is a bit of a hall from there (east of Lancaster on 30)

I hope you've enjoyed your tour.

It's quite the interesting story. Here's a primer: https://www.prosoundweb.com/channels/li ... ir_bros/3/

It grew up as a sound production company. Then acts started touring with their own sound and light shows and, eventually, staging. They built a huge auditorium style soundstage out there to make sure their gear work in the environments they were intended for. I think Bruce was the first to say hey, you've got this place with the sound system you put together for us- why don't we just do the tour rehearsals at your place? Then as they (and other surrounding support companies) designed and built the staging and lighting, it became almost a necessity to do the rehearsals out there. Fun fact: The crew even rehearses once the set has been finalized. At the end of a day's rehearsal, they will break down everything and load it in to trailers. Then the next morning they will set it all up again for the next day's rehearsal.

You can go to Plain and Fancy if you want to sit at a table with strangers and pass around food.

In the "documentary" that was on Apple Music that surrounded the Bad Boy Records reunion concerts, a good deal of it takes place in Lititz with the different artists going there to rehearse. Having never heard of the facility before, I was blown away by it being in Lititz, the size/scale of the facilities, etc.

dangit now you've sent me down another rabbit hole. i love this stuff.

this is tait towers, a lighting/staging company that formed in litiz. I think if there were no clair bros, tait would've never happened. They were complementary companies for a lot of years, and they finally merged a few years back.

I can't imagine stepping foot in a Whole Foods or a Target if it meant taking 100 photos with randos. I can barely stand it now

The restaurant at the air port is a favorite. No kidding. There is a place with good beer in the middle of town (General Sutter Inn/Bullshead Pub), and get some Kickass Coffee from the local roaster Whiff. If someone in your life likes chocolate, grab some Wilburs (not nearly as special since Cargil owns them, but they are still pretty much the same). I have family that lives there so I've passed some time in the little town.

Clair Brothers (are they like Soundworkz or something now?) is why you get national acts playing Hershey.

Pretty sure that's who my nephew works for. He's does a lot of the sound work for a lot of the major touring acts.

(Edit:and after checking, he does in fact work for Clair Global in Lititz)
(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."
