I'm crushed at the prospect of losing this community so whatever needs to happen ($, time, assistance), please let me know.

I am friends with the guy who runs https://philly.sportscolumn.com/ and it has a similar format to this. It is lightly used without a lot of users currently. I know a # of you have posted there as well. We could migrate there and I could give Vin a heads up (and also see if donations would help ease the additional burden). Just a thought.

I'll be happy to chip in. If we need a short term solution I think Discord or Slack would be a much better fit than Reddit.

I will add to hosting details, as you all are interested.

(1) After 13 years, with little deletion, the database is over 4gb. There is an additional 2gb of files, which make up the avatars, and program files.
(2) Monthly bandwidth runs from 50gb to 150gb.
(3) We definitely pay more than what Moma is quoting, but we pay a premium (most likely) for US-based hosting.

Is there any way the archives can be preserved in the short term, even if there's no way to immediately do anything with them? I'd hate to lose the history of this board.

My quote was based on a shared hosting plan from bluehost.

I did, and I agree with others, Reddit is not a long term solution, it is fine transitioning if we need it, I’d created it a year ago when this site had some down time to get my fix of you losers.

Thank you to the voxes for all the years of letting us have this space, it’s been a meaningful part of my adult life and I’ll forever be grateful to you both for that.

Question for the voxes that I don’t think I’ve seen, I understand that there’s no way to transition the board for technical reasons, but is there anyway to transfer the domain name?

Thank you, but for accuracy’s sake, this has always been the Voxes’ board. The Orange Board (Cool Kids) was my private board with like 15 users, and the Voxes were kind enough to take the reigns and start this wonderful terrible public replacement where (most) shit talking takes place in PM form.
