The vultures in flight is called kettle.

The vultures resting on the ground or in trees is called committee.

And a group of vultures that are feeding is called a wake.

So congrats on the celebratory wake tonight.

$96 a year for the right to buy chicken? Nelson Rockefeller over here.

That is rather short-sighted, Bucky. It's purchases like these that separate those who make it in life and those who don't.

Don't know man Costco executive membership is the deal. They cash you at 2% back plus you get access to a credit card that gives you percentages back on everything you buy which means you can double up. I put my kids tuition on it and got a big check back. People seem to think that check can only be used for purchases, but if you walk right up to the member desk or when you go through the cash register line they'll give you every penny that's in that check cold hard cash in your bloody hand.

I should also throw in that my local Costco has gas, and one day when gas prices were high I saved about 80 cents a gallon, I normally save 35 to 40 cents a gallon, which is fantastic especially since there's a Costco gas station near my office and one near my home so it's not a special trip or anything

Does anyone own a small-ish air purifier and have any recommendations?

It is indeed. Great for you, but I've almost been tempted to go back to Grad school just so I'd have access again to the great reference materials. It doesn't quite add up financially though.

it's mostly dried up from what I can tell. JSTOR is the only big one extending access through the year and as of now they're pulling ebooks at the end of August, though this new offer is very nice as most vendors still required affiliation. some smaller publisher platforms are still wide open

We are still doing it with several of our platforms and I've heard others are going to reopen. When everything was up in the air in the spring most publishers were doing it through the end of the semester, and now that it's certain many schools will be online many are opening up again for the fall. Sometimes schools/libraries just need to ask

Ugh. I may just try and wait out quarantine and get back into the office with better ventilation... Phoenix air is just god awful, especially in a summer with no monsoon rain.

even though there was no rain yesterday or in the forecast.... shit's a brewin'. hopefully we get something tonight or tomorrow. this is really getting bad. lots of fires going on this summer didn't help either for air quality. probably going back up to flag again this weekend. i've only spent one weekend here in the valley since the middle of june.
