joking aside... you're good people like my parents. they were politically active in the democratic party fighting for equality and in my mom's case volunteering extensively in the community. entire family was union folk, but

You're right, of course. Things have changed so drastically. Btw, I've been a dues-paying union member for 45 years, too.

If Biden wins and we take the Senate, even for just 2 years, there are things which can be done to begin to turn the ship in the right direction for workers: A concerted effort to strengthen union laws along with a grass roots effort to unionize many more segments of the workforce. It will take a lot of education since the Republicans have successfully managed to demonize unions for at least four (4) decades, but a united, widespread workers movement supported by Washington would make a huge difference.

So, too, would reinvigorated Antitrust enforcement, not just at the mega-merger level but also at the employee level where companies continue to engage in blatantly anti-competitive activity on wages, restrictive covenants, etc.

It's taken a long time to walk into this forest so it's going to take awhile to walk out. But there are things which could be started immediately after the election to lay the groundwork for larger changes in the years ahead.

wonder if that has more to do with her just being a shitty ass neighbor. living in the suburbs most of my life there are plenty of stories. just recently a pal had his neighbor text PTK long texts to his wife about needing to clean their pool because it was killing her trees in her yard somehow. threatened to call codes enforcement. this went on for like two weeks until the wife finally just stopped responding. the texts were insane.

even my mom growing up, i remember she embarrassingly told the neighbors across the street to not park in front of our house because it is our spot or whatever.

suburbs are just full of doofuses.

I don't know how many of you are familiar with Montclair, but it's an interesting place.

I love Montclair. Awesome pizza and a great.record store I recall fondly.
