You Know, the Thing: A New Politics Thread

Can somebody explain why the GOP was hellbent on having the Wisconsin primary going forward? As Trump already has the R nomination sewn up and Biden all but has the D nomination sewn up, I am not sure I am seeing the end game other than to get a lot of Democrats sick.

There is an election for a spot on the state Supreme Court. 175 of 180 polling stations are closed in Milwaukee resulting in an average two hour wait to vote.

Guess which party is gonna win that seat?

it's called an illegitimate election, folks

the Georgia Governor was not actually elected. it doesn't appear to actually matter.

LGBT advocacy groups had tremendous success by pressuring corporations not to do business in states with discriminatory laws. I'd love to see similar campaigns by voting rights and civil rights groups. I suppose the problem is that while corporations don't really care what bathroom people use, they don't really want poor and black people to vote either.

I don’t take responsibility at all,” said President Donald Trump in the Rose Garden on March 13. Those words will probably end up as the epitaph of his presidency, the single sentence that sums it all up.

Excellent opening to a new Atlantic article

Intelligence reports now indicate that WH was made aware of concerns in Wuhan in November.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

This whole thing is the WHO’s fault and they’re going to pay dearly for it. We’re gonna slash their funding because if they had done their job we wouldn’t be in this situation.

The lack of accountability is on real with this jack ass.

Here is the YouTube video if you really need to hear Trump say the words. I didn’t wanna waste the space or cause anyone to have to look at Dumbo by shoving in the video. https://youtu.be/vUROZ49Z7c0

He was asked about cutting off the WHO 15 minutes later. He claimed he never said they were going to put a hold on funding.

Inevitable. The Wisconsin issues may have influenced that decision to suspend.

The closing of 175/180 polling stations was, in effect, sanctioned by the US Supreme Court. Absolute sham of an institution. They also threw out the extension of mail in ballot deadline.
