Nope! Same thing that has happened to MontCo and apparently Bucks.

Weird, the JHU coronavirus map now doesn't list any cases in the UK. Three in the Faroe Islands, sure, but none in the UK although there were over 400 listed just the other day.

But you know what? What they’ve done is very incredible. I understand that whole world. I love that world. I really do. I love that world. And they should be given tremendous credit. And the whole world is relying on us.

I agree with this part, anyway.

Well they don't exist any more so that's understandable.

Center City update: Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell have lines around the block. (America!)

Grocery stores, pharmacies and bodegas are out of hand sanitizer and some cleaning products, but for the most part everything else is holding up. Toilet paper not abundant but you can find it.

Everything's fine here in NJ:

I’m in Audubon. My 6 year old daughter has developed a fever of 101.7 and a slight cough. She says she’s fine, although a bit cold.

As a responsible citizen, it’s my belief that she should be tested for COVID-19. She’s been at school all week, and my wife has been at work in Camden with a high-risk population. Both the public schools and the non-profit my wife works at should know ASAP if V has this virus.

I called the doctors office. They referred me to the emergency room because they do not have the ability to test, and then admitted that they weren’t sure that the ER even has the ability. I then called the office of our state reps, who also referred me to the ER. I expressed surprise that anyone with a fever is advised to go to the ER, as it seems likely that that would quickly overwhelm the ER, thus potentially depriving quick care to actual medical emergencies. Do I really want to go sit in the ER all day with a feverish child? Do I want to risk the economic shock of a trip to the ER for a non medical emergency? Hard no.

I got a call back from the state reps office. I was told that the only tests that are available now are for people that are in a bad state; patients that are having respiratory failure. I was told that this is what has been directed from the CDC. There’s simply not enough tests for everyone.

So that’s where we are at. We have no idea what’s going on, truly. I’m so frustrated.

Here's the thing--South Korea, which probably has the most thorough testing of any nation, has 8000 confirmed cases. That would make the 100k number from Ohio ridiculously high. They'd be seeing 1000s of people needing hospitalization, whether they'd been tested or not.

Or the hospitalization rates aren't right because of lack of test kits. I don't know if South Korea has tested anyone without noticeable symptoms but if you are young and healthy you may not even know you had it.

Sure--but if say 1000 people went to the hospital with serious respiratory distress, it would be noticed. They might not count as confirmed cases, but it wouldn't fly under the radar. Even if S. Korea, which has been doing a good job of testing people, is only catching 10% of the cases, that's still less than 100k. Finally, last I saw, there are 120k cases world wide, so 100k in Ohio seems remarkably high. Now, if I'm misinterpreting it, and the actual claim is that 100k people in Ohio will get it, that's scary enough.

The real numbers are scary enough--this is more infectious and more deadly than the flu. I don't think people really get what a 2% mortality rate means. I don't think people understand what it means when each infected person infects 2 others. And those are conservative numbers.

I heard they changed the data structure earlier today, might have caused some problems with how the visuals / reports are rolling up.

Trump has normalized his tweet-rage to the point that I miss/ignore most of it, but he still come through whenever necessary.

“Sleepy Joe Biden was in charge of the H1N1 Swine Flu epidemic which killed thousands of people. The response was one of the worst on record,“Our response is one of the best, with fast action of border closings & a 78% Approval Rating, the highest on record. His was lowest!"

WaPo -

In his tweet, Trump did not cite the source of the high approval rating. He may have been referring to a Gallup poll, taken nearly a month ago when there was only a single American case, that found 77 percent of Americans were “generally confident in the federal government’s ability to handle a potential coronavirus outbreak.” That number, while it pertained to the federal government as a whole and not just Trump, topped similar polling figures taken during past outbreaks of Zika, Ebola, swine flu and bird flu.

What was the polling numbers on Spanish Flu you moron? Better then Obama I'd guess the response.

A more recent Quinnipiac poll released Monday asked Americans specifically about how Trump is handling coronavirus and reported that 43 percent approved while 49 percent disapproved.

Ohio is definitely saying they believe 100,000 are already carrying it.

Governor Mike DeWine
@GovMikeDeWine
.@DrAmyActon: I know it is hard to understand #COVID19 since we can't see it, but we know that 1% of our population is carrying this virus today -- that's over 100,000 people.
