Normally I just throw some shit in the deep fryer when I want my place to smell like a fast food restaurant. Apparently KFC has outdone itself with another brilliant idea. The KFC firelog.
Now I don’t even have to buy any chicken or throw shit in the deep fryer.
What do you call a small city that is not near a larger city?
I grew up in the "city" of Corvallis, OR, which at the time had a population under 50,000 and is too far from a larger city (about an hour from Eugene and close to two hours from Portland) to be considered a suburb or exurb. It in some ways felt like a small town but obviously could not be called rural. Yet it felt very different in character from what I think of as "urban". Having lived most of my adult life in various suburbs of Philadelphia I would say that the feel of Corvallis is closest to suburban but of course as mentioned it's not truly suburban.

I think you hit it in the first sentence. A small city. When small cities are not part of a larger metro area I think they tend to have a suburban feel.
Drunk and stupid is no way to be remembered but it is an easy way to forget.
