For the past two days I have been rotating between having absolute freezing chills to sweating through my tshirts every few hours, I spent 20 hours sleeping yesterday.

RIP Tupay

Love my new cat. She's so afraid. Can't wait until she's not confined to the guest room. Just laid on the bed in there for a few minutes until she was brave enough to jump up without me tricking her with a to. Proud of her!

Jesse plemons, better know as meth damon or simply Todd, in ten years will become the greatest character actor of his generation.

The dude went from the we can’t afford Matt Damon but we got this plemons kid for 1/10 of the cost, to the we need some really weird looking fat dude. Marvelous career decision, specifically with the decline of Damon. Dude is going to work. Hollywood needs fat dudes and broads, but actors and actresses just don’t want to make that sacrifice.

Inspired by the K-pop sensation I'm starting an A-pop (Aged) boy man band. Instead of complicated choreography we'll attempt to remain standing for an entire set and instead of NCTzens the fans will be known as BSGeriatrics.

Who wants to audition?

Great book!

My grandma and mom's sister also share a birthday on 11/22. My mom's parents' retirement home was the stereotypical Irish Catholic abode with a bust of JFK and a picture of JP2. November 22nd was always a big day growing up.

Late to this but also my parent's wedding anniversary and the day, two years later, they moved into the house where my Mom lives to this day, if I remember correctly.

Since 11/22 came up in this thread, and since I have already apparently embarrassed myself once today by divulging what kinds of things fascinate me with respect to the odds of them happening, I'll share this story here. I thought about calling it in once when This American Life was looking for stories about odd coincidences - or are they coincidences? - kind of thing.

So I was living in Center City at the time, so this would have been 2004, 5, or 6, don't quite remember which. I lived at 22nd & Sansom and at the time there was a Wawa at 20th & Chestnut, which was my go-to. Went in there for whatever I went in there for - cigarettes, probably, since I smoked then - and paid with cash and got some change. Habitually I looked down at the coins I received - at the time I was sort of making it a habit to collect the bicentennial quarters, and I think my Mom was collecting the state ones, so I always looked - and to my surprise I found I had received a Kennedy half dollar.

I don't know how often I have received a Kennedy half dollar as change in my life, certainly no more than ten times, maybe five, hell, maybe just that once. I certainly have never received one as change again. Not sure I have touched one for any reason since.

I looked at it, kind of said, "Huh, that's neat," and was going to put it away when it dawned on me: it was November 22nd. I got spooked.

ANd the more I thought about it, the more spooked I got. I figure there are lots of people who know off-hand tht JFK was killed on November 22nd, but I figure there are also lots of people who don't. Considering I was not alive when it happened, the only reason I know the date so well is because of what I mentioned above: my parents' wedding anniversary, and the day they moved into the home I grew up in, were both also November 22nd. And not to get too graphic, but my parents moved in on 11/22/1977, and I was born on August 27, 1978 - so it doesn't take much imagination for me to figure out why this date would be of especial importance to my particular life.

Then I thought about how uncommon it probably was that this Wawa - or any place - was ever giving out Kennedy half dollars as change. Perhaps slightly more likely in the city than the suburbs because of the coin machines in the Septa stations from when you used to get the tokens instead of the cards they use now. Those machines always gave out silver/gold dollars, but honestly I never once remember getting a Kennedy half dollar from one.

No, it must be kinda rare that this Wawa had a Kennedy half dollar to distribute at all. And when they did it was on 11/22. To me of all people, who not only knew right away and off hand the significance of the date, but precisely because it was of such personal importance to my life.

What are the odds?

[I wish I remembered if it were a Bicentennial Kennedy Half Dollar or not - probably not, I think I would remember if it had been, but alas I no longer remember the year it was issued.]

I feel like you woulda remembered if it were a Bicentennial.

When I deposited all the coins I wrapped last week, I also deposited my mom's coin 'collection'. Lots of kennedy halves, bicentennial quarters, state quarters and nickels. And a whole bunch of dollars- sacagawea, susie b's, eisenhower, and presidential dollars (which i did not even know existed). I held on to the Morgan Dollars and all the silver coins, since silver is at a low right now.

Stock up now - the french fry shortage is coming. For your own safety I wouldn't mention your reserves to neighbors, friends or even family.

I've always been curious about the AeroPress Coffee Maker, I am about 95% sure that a woman sitting in traffic was using an AeroPress Go. Now I am waiting to hear the new story about someone scalding themselves making press coffee in their car.

It'll be the McDonald's lawsuit all over again.

Sadly, my frostbite litigation after the milkshake incident went unsettled.

kinda feel that cocktail sauce got unfairly pigeonholed to simply shrimp. honestly it is way more versatile and has so much more in the way of potential. could've been up there with bbq sauce or even possibly steak sauce in popularity. just feel like it's sister, tartar sauce keeps trying to hold it back and bring it down.

i dunno, i think it's pigeonholed for a reason. I tried it in my martini once and it was awful.
