Guy at work said he was taking his grandmother to see Downton Abbey, or did so already, didn't hear the full conversation. Guy next to him seems perplexed and doesn't know what Downton Abbey is. I don't claim to be a fan of any sort, but how the fuck have you never heard of that show? I wouldn't have even considered that possible.

i only vaguely knew of the show and i sure as hell didn't know they made a movie about it, well until now, when i myself was perplexed as why someone is taking someone to see it.

I only know about it because my parents watch it. Don’t think I know anyone else who watches it or mentions it.

it's not a major network, i don't know what service it is streaming on. i assume it's on bbc. i know next to nothing about this show except i did know it existed. sure as hell, no masked singer.

It's still a little weird how ratings work these days. Downton Abbey averaged around 13 million viewers during its fourth season.On PBS, which no one watches. The finale of Breaking Bad, which even azrider may have heard of, drew 10 million viewers and that was considered an incredible ratings bonanza, especially since average viewership had climbed to 6 million from less than 2 million in its second season. Like everything else in popular culture, things are so segmented that the amount of buzz anyone hears seems unrelated to the general popularity.
