Sarah Sanders on Chairman Nadler:

“If he and his committee aren’t capable of actually asking the attorney general themselves and need to staff that out, it seems like a pretty pathetic moment for the chairman of that committee and look — we lost confidence in Jerry Nadler a long time ago but it’s surprising to find out he’s actually lost confidence in himself and his capability to do his job. If he can’t and he’s not capable of asking the attorney general questions- maybe he should step down and resign and allow somebody else that can."

Umm, I guess Sarah missed the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings and how Republicans treated Christine Blasey Ford? The level of hypocrisy in this Administration is otherworldly.

“Imagine, Rachel, that you had one of the Democratic nominees for 2020 on your show, and that person said, you know, the only other adversary of ours who is anywhere near as good as the Russians is China,” Clinton said. “So why should Russia have all the fun? And since Russia is clearly backing Republicans, why don’t we ask China to back us?”

The election could turn into a battle between two rival powers, Russia and China, one supporting the Republicans and one the Democrats, Clinton said.

“Just saying that shows how absurd the situation is we find ourselves in,” she added.

A little late, but kudos I guess. I’m excited for the overreaction.

YES! Dumbass sycophant Stephen Moore withdrew.

Pack up his misogyny, provably wrong theories, and his panache style for not knowing what he is talking about, and go the F home.

The page in the playbook for dealing with the report is to accuse Meuller of leaving a political door open to harass Trump. Emmet Flood's letter lays out that the president has the right to exert executive privilege over past testimony and future witnesses. Basically they can exert privilege over anyone who is called, in total, thus demanding refusal to appear.

But is it really just a dodge around the Barr gambit?

My guess would either be Klobuchar (data folks like her overperformance in Minnesota elections, regionally lines up with where the Dems need to claw back at Trump) or Harris (addresses many of the coalitional motivation challenges he brings up that Biden might struggle with, while still being able to talk to suburban indies/soft Republicans).

I think Wasserman is one of the smartest people who write about politics, and take some of his concerns about Biden in the general, but 1) think he's underselling how potent a message of 'let's just get things back to normal' can be and 2) if he really thinks Stacey Abrams is the Dems strongest gen election candidate I think that's bonkers.

Klobuchar makes sense.

I think 1 is a fairly strong counterpoint to his arguments too. But it also sort of complements the 'it doesnt have to be joe' in that, any democrat will have the same tailwind.

I tend to think that any of the top 5 will have a near equal chance and that the margins of 'electability' are negligible. Except maybe Warren because she will be completely unfairly lumped with Hillary. This country sucks.
