I mean, his posts really aren't that bad if you think about it. They're well researched to a point, even if you give him slightly less credit considering the repetitiveness inherent in his musings. He's just a really passionate guy and I think there's something to be said for that level of zeal, commitment, "moxy" or whatever else you want to call it. We could all stand to learn from a man so boldly forward with his interests.

I had a friend who became a realtor after holding many other jobs throughout the years. He's like 40 now but hates what he's doing, which, surprise, isn't being a realtor. He never asked me, but I asked him how it was going and he kept saying he couldn't get it off the ground because he just couldn't get any clients. Felt bad for him that he went through all the realtor stuff and then basically gave up on it.

apologies to any realtors here, but it definitely feels like a job that a lot of people do bc they cant get another job

My brother in law sells real estate on the side, but for him, the big issue is getting listings. His advantage is that he focuses on a town where he's lived all his life and knows just about everyone who lives there, and also has a ton of relatives in the area.

For him, I think it's pretty sweet. If he's got a listing, he'll work to sell it and pocket the commission, but he doesn't go around trying to find buyers.

Seems like there are just a ton of realtors too.
