Politics: Promises Made, Hush Money Paid

Kilmnink isn’t connected to Russian intelligence per US Intelligence Agencies. He IS Russian intelligence.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

Some of this is coming into view. It’s plausible that Manafort did all of this without trump knowledge. Pascale becomes more interesting, but Manafort has motive in that he owed a powerful Russian a lot of money and provided him proprietary information that was clearly used (Among much more public and non public info) by Russian intelligence in some capacity.

Question becomes whether other trump folks had motive as well. Suppose greasing the wheel for future business could or would be one.

I don'pt have any doubts Trump knew. Pretty sure Alex Jones is going to be caught up in this or will be eventually

This is probably ok/good. He’s a threat in that he knows what’s going on which is a powerful position to be in.

I get that its plausible but is it really? Trump does not strike me as someone who allows themselves to be out of the loop. Hell, his ego is so huge and he is so morally corrupt (in addition to being corrupt in all other facets of his life) that he probably gets erect just thinking about what he and his minions pulled over on the American public. I mean this is the greatest con in the history of the world. Our president, with ample assistance, actually stole an election. Gondorff and Hooker could take lessons from these crooks.

Well, I am shocked*:

US taxpayers will foot the bill for a border wall, White House strategic communications director Mercedes Schlapp acknowledged in an interview on Wednesday. "Yes," Schlapp said when pressed by CNN's Jim Sciutto about taxpayers paying for the wall. "And you know what else taxpayers are paying for? The financial burden of this illegal immigration."

* that somebody finally admitted it.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time. I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!

Something tells me that is not quite how the meeting transpired.

I was just down in Laredo. They have booths on the border.

They all have neat labels and signs.

A big red nose, the leaf of the weed, well you know what I mean, a syringe, pill signs, then you have your typical trinkets, jewelry with those light blue stones, and of course the multicolored blankets. Then came the food, it was all very organized.

That is mostly how it was described. Chuck, Nancy, and pence all basically said Trump showed up put the wall on the table they said no so he left.

The GOP contingent was very indignant about how the Dems dont want to deal. Bizzaro land.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday threatened to cut off federal relief aid to California for wildfires, prompting a swift response from new Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom that "disasters and recovery are no time for politics."

"Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forest fires that, with proper Forest Management, would never happen," Trump tweeted. "Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!"

Tom Steyer is not running for president. One billionaire down, let's hope Bloomberg steps aside as well.

Gee whiz, While I did not scour the internet looking for the locations of the wall, I was also not presented with those details until now.

Texas not too much wall

most other places are have a fence.

This is not a pressing problem.

Why do you feel that way about Bloomberg?

To me, Steyer has been a useful anti-Trump voice - consistent and early, serious but not hysterical. A force for good, but I agree I don't want another inexperienced pol leading the nation.

Bloomberg is one of the more sensible pols I can think of. Not really a Dem or a conservative, no one hates him, and I don't know of any major skeletons or blunders. I'd be all for him if he were 10 years younger, as I would for Uncle Joe.

I'm not challenging your opinion - just wondering if Bloomberg has negatives that aren't on my radar.

Since you asked,

my dream ticket includes any two from this group (ideally with gender and ethnic diversity):
Kamala Harris
Eric Garcetti
Beto O'Rourke
Eric Swalwell
Mitch Landrieu
Amy Klobuchar
Adam Schiff
Sherrod Brown
Julian Castro

I don't want these particularly, but they are not dealbreakers:
Joe Biden (too old)
Michael Bloomberg (too old)
Cory Booker
Hillary Clinton (too old and too Hillary)

These could make me vote for Mitt or Flake:
Elizabeth Warren (too Hillary)
Bernie Sanders
Bill DiBlasio
Joe Kennedy III

And I hope Kasich waits until 2024. Too bad that Angus King is 74, he'd be the perfect Joe Biden to kids like Kamala or Beto.

Bloomberg is essentially Wall Street in human form to me. He's out of touch and is opposed to many worker reforms and reforms to our system that I am for. It's simply a question of what HE'S actually for, which is not what I am. I do also think you overrate his popularity.

Warren and Sanders are my top two. After that it'd be Harris. Our politics are simply very different.
