a lot of scallops from the East Coast get shipped to China for processing then back to America to eat. I think that's pretty wild

That's why you buy that shit at a local dock or fish market. It's boat to table and it's cheaper. Never buy that stuff at supermarkets.

The other day they had kung pao chicken and I swear it was scallops. Tasted like scallops, was shaped like scallops, and had the texture of scallops. There was ample reason for me to believe it was scallops. But the guy next to me has a seafood allergy and he didn't die, so I guess it was chicken. Anyway, scallops are popular here. I wonder if they come from the US and are cheap because they don't have to be shipped twice.

The food in the dining hall is bangin', btw

I suppose strictly speaking if it's farm raised, it isn't seafood. A pet peeve of mind is when people call catfish seafood.
