That thought actually crossed my mind on the last thank so I will discontinue that practice and acknowledge receipt via PM

it would be nice to have a running tally though.

for all the gifts of knowledge, antidote, stories, and friendship he gave over the years, it would be nice that we can pay him back and bestow upon him a thank you and one last gift in his honor. kinda hoping we are rounding up something nice here.

Donation date is a formality, and likely a meaningless one- I submit to my company's giving portal, and it may take a month or two to get through their gauntlet of approvals for the matching donation and finally the check submission to the charity. But if we think that's a good thing, then I'll wait. Maybe if we give it more time it will give more folks an opportunity to donate?

It doesn't matter. I was just thinking about the symbolism of it.

Oh sorry, yes, I understand that and agree with that, I should've said that part. I was just expressing how the date that we make the donation would be far disconnected from the date that the charity gets it, so the symbolism may be lost.

What a small world - that's my best friend's parent's church, his dad is/was an Elder there.
