We did not target Assad or his Air Force per CNN

We basically did what we did a year ago which totally worked.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

we shouldn't be there outside of helping Kurdish forces with ISIL and repelling anti-Kurdish forces. this is stupid.

and really, we shouldn't be there at all. there's no real authority to do so. there's no real authority to be in Iraq. Obama didn't have it, and Trump doesn't have it. these strikes are useless, stupid and wrong.

This is an honest question but what can we do to discourage use of chemical weapons?

I mean, 'it's awful and we can't do much about it like we don't do anything about Isreal gunning down unarmed palestinians, rohingya genocide, etc.' is an answer but it's a sad one.

Also saw we've taken in 11 Syrian refugees this year. This fucking country, man.

In sort of a mass response, per some reporting the Russians were given a heads up of where there would be activity. That was to limit the chance of Russians caught in the crossfire, and to deconflict the airspace. The Russians undoubtedly got their people largely out of the way, but it sounds like it also afforded the opportunity to set up some sort of response to counter cruise missiles as the Russians claim Syrian success in knocking down 69% of the missile attack.

@realDonaldTrump
A perfectly executed strike last night. Thank you to France and the United Kingdom for their wisdom and the power of their fine Military. Could not have had a better result. Mission Accomplished!

The "giving Russia a heads up" is pretty much SOP in this spot though right (and a military tactics decision vs a presumably Trump idea?) Defer to bsg military ultimately

I don't know. Chemical weapons and mass killing your own citizens will continue to happen over that long term. I don't know the answer but sitting by and watching isn't a great one either, pacino.

Obama used diplomacy to extract some chemical weaponry out of Syria. Extended diplomacy could've continued.

It's over, though. We have no standing and this war has gone on too long with too many suffering. There's no real solution. We missed the window.

I'm not sure what more bombs solves that is any better than 'sitting.'

It's fine. You don't want to kill them and then enter a WW3 situation.

Guess. Idk. They said they didn't have any. Then were going to give them up. Then used them again on their own people.

So, a week before Comey goes public, Syria with help from Russia drops massive chemical attack on an area posing limited threat.

US then waits a week to respond just 36 hours before Comey interview airs.

Mission Accomplished.

This accomplished nothing other than to make more Muslims hate us, especially those from the younger generation. Bombing one of the oldest cities in the world like Damascus will make more enemies in that part of the world than supporters.

When Muslim terrorists target the US, UK, and France, this is a big reason why.

This is was so unnecessary. All it's going to do is create more hate and anger. You're already seeing young men in the streets of Damascus today with anti-US posters. Hezbollah is probably the big winner today.

Apparently, the judge on Michael Cohen's case once trained to be a Playboy bunny.

I just can't.

I need it to go back to the no-drama days of Obama.
