I'm not surprised. Nunberg did an interview with Joy Reid about a couple of months ago and he was clearly drunk. It was embarrassing.

new job:
Matt Baker, who became well-known for his campaigns against opioid and pornography addiction during his 13 terms as a Republican state Rep., has landed a new posting – courtesy of the Trump administration.

The former 68th District House member was quietly sworn in as regional director of the Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services office in Philadelphia two weeks ago.

The IEA serves as a bridge between federal social service efforts and state, city and tribal governments – helping to coordinate major health programs, like Medicare and Medicaid. Baker’s regional office covers Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

so what's he most known for?
He has also been involved with more controversial pieces of legislation, including a bipartisan bill preventing the state Department of General Services from doing business with contractors that had boycotted Israeli products and a failed effort to label pornography a public health crisis.

“That (anti-porn bill) was an interesting piece of legislation that the Pennsylvania Family Institute had asked me to introduce. But it needed some more work; it was really just a rough draft,” he said. “Upon my resignation, I don't expect that particular bill to advance.”

That New Yorker article - wow

Yet to be publicly disclosed comms between trump campaign and Russia

That’s crazy. It’s like the trump folks put out their surrogate yesterday to steal the light from this story.

Mueller going to indict all of trumps world I think.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

So a guy who in this case really is a pretty low level nothing gets drunk and cable news dedicates and evening of coverage to his drunken ramblings. Again, tell me how wonderful the media are. (And yes, I'm still listening to the NPR morning news, and they covered it too.)

I think both our attention span and patience are too short in the current climate (this may have been true with the advent of 24/7 news channels, but Twitter/Facebook has acerbated it). With a scandal/outrage a minute in the Trump administration, there is a rightful critique that important news is often left in the wake of the Trump tsunami. On the other hand, it seems we are too quick to drag the media for covering a pretty wild non-story for less than a day. Was yesterday's 4000 interviews overkill, definitely, but being mentioned on in a segment of NPR's Up First podcast and Morning Edition show unreasonable? I think not.
Quick Google shows that GoGo is wrong with regards to the Kiwi and the Banana.

Whether the media cover a story too much or too little doesn’t change the facts.

In my heart of hearts, I know that Trump is going to skate when all is said and done*. The silver lining in all this, I hope, is that this entire episode will make him unelectable in 2020 and the Democratic nominee (unless it is the female that shall not be named) will romp to a win. Or, maybe better yet, Adolf will not even win the party's nomination and has to slink away back into the shadows.

* I truly hope I am wrong and Trump has to resign in total disgrace.

Trump administration ending ban elephant trophies. They will now be reviewed on a case by case basis. This is not exactly a surprise, but he did tweet this back in November:

Big-game trophy decision will be announced next week but will be very hard pressed to change my mind that this horror show in any way helps conservation of Elephants or any other animal.
