I thought that was old news. Maybe it was just the demands from Nunes and the tweet storms.

they are ready to pick the name out of a bowl in Virginia. It does not matter because both sides have indicated that another recount will be requests. It is stupid however.

IMHO, the D won. The over vote that put it in the R cam had an X over the vote for the representative (both circles were filled in), however the vote for governor also had an filled in circle with an X (one single vote for Gov). To me that makes Circle+X the vote, not a mistake indicator.

AND THE temporary winner IS DAVID YANCEY (R)

no surprise.

Yancey did not even show up for the drawing. I guess that is how incumbents roll.

I though it was a pretty good cross over post myself.

I will note that the did pack it, and pass it before performing a ceremony that does indicate some level of intoxication.

Trump is reportedly attempting to stop the publication of “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” Michael Wolff’s explosive new book about his campaign and presidency.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that Trump’s attorneys have sent a cease-and-desist letter to the book's publisher, demanding that Henry Holt & Company not publish the book and apologize to the president..

That is pretty insane.

I am not sure how it fits into 1A, but there is plenty of trash published. Any bets on if he wants these burned in public?

Of course, this is going to fail, and drive up sales. They really are dumb. And even if one of the federalist fascist judges trump appointed issues a restraining order, the cat is already out of the bag.

Yancey couldn't come up the night before, and Tidewater area roads are a shit show.

What do you think happens next Richmond? We are into uncharted territory. There are debates if Shelly Simonds can demand further review. Something about agreeing to the drawing voids other remedies? I am not sure that she could decline. Clearly I am not objective around the over vote.

Va. Code s. 24.2-802(H) is pretty damn clear to me:

The recount proceeding shall be final and not subject to appeal.

Now, the GOP were going to try to file another recount so that the could delay the proceeding further and ensure a 50-49 House on the first day of Session (Speaker votes, Rules adoptions, committee assignments, etc.). It was a flawed argument and they likely would've lost, but that's what they were going to do. OTOH, Simonds gets no benefit from a losing argument that delays the proceeding further, because it's still 50-49 GOP.

What she SHOULD have done is file a contest and demand a special election, arguing that the tiebreaker provision doesn't apply after recounts. I've gotta run, so I'll have to explain that theory later. I don't know if it's a winning argument, but optically it works a hell of a lot better for the Democrats.

thanks Richmond, that is interesting. When you expound can you fit in the argument around the cost of special elections being onerous which is something that I have heard contextually about the other nightmare of people being given the wrong ballet for their district. There is so much dysfunction in that, but I think I remember that being core to the discovery at least as far back as 2015 when this was actually known, but then there was some sort of 'all good' from the fox in the hen house that was accepted as fact by this fox friends.

Also, any idea why there was not an attack on the ballot itself? Aside from the three judge panel, it seemed inconclusive, and I did not think that ruling on perceived intention of the voter seemed to have much merit, in fact it reeked of licking ones finger and foisting it in the air to predict the weekends weather.

Josh Dawsey @jdawsey1
After legal threat from Trump's team, Michael Wolff's book Fire and Fury will now be published tomorrow instead of Tuesday, per publisher.

Bannon is reported to have been cut off by the Mercers. It was reported that Trump did not understand the Mercer's financial backing, but gladly took their money. fol does not see all the strings attached?

Without looking, I will say it is already #1 on Amazon.

Also, while I was critical and snarky about this book yesterday as a waste of time and a distraction, I may have been wrong about that. Since our current political media has done nothing (willingly or unwillingly) aid and abet trump, maybe the best way to cover him is with celebrity style gossip and innuendo.

I agree with that sentiment. However, this is all likely to amount to nothing. Remember, this guy already has been recorded admitting to sexual assault and he was rewarded with the presidency. To Adolf's base, this is just going to be another attack by non-Patriots.

So it is #1.

Say what you want about that style of Journalism, the party was confirmed by another person, or reporter, who said she was fairly shocked at the openness of the discussion, and she's yet to see anything that she would deem untruthful.
