And they have been so successful in their effort that a large percentage of our population refuse to even believe it is taking place

this is so on point. there's a strong theme with Americans that the best way for things to get better and for us to progress as people, is to be nice and civil, and ignore any problems that are taking place. just be quiet and nice and everything will be fine. a lot of people have been politically radicalized in the last few years, but even more have decided talking about politics isn't something that they are interested in.

Patriotic Tennessee check cashing service pulling ads from NFL.

Here it the patriotic fee structure for Check into Cash: Fee Amount of $45.00 with a standard APR* of 460.08 %.

This company also owns a men's clothing store that will not advertise during NFL games.

So these thieves love America, clearly love ca$h, but hate the constitution.

This was such a "human moment" (i.e. natural) that I had to post. It is video from CNN of the mayor of San Juan, PR responding to HSS Elaine Duke's complete satisfaction with the recovery effort following Hurricane Maria:

I think that it’s fair for sponsors to pull out from the league if they disagree with the content of the protests. I also think the NFL should have higher standards for sponsors than predatory lending companies

I've seen some comments that there are supplies in PR that are sitting in shipping crates on docks but there are no vehicles in which to transport the supplies since it is an island and you can't just drive a truck from a neighboring state over to help. I think it is very short-sighted that the military never came up with a way to get supplies to remote places or that they don't have any boats capable of transporting vehicles to places where there aren't any.

That was a point made strongly by a guest on Morning Joe this morning. It was not as if this massive hurricane was a surprise to anybody. There were days of advanced notice that Puerto Rico (and neighboring areas) was very much in Maria's cross hairs. It is evident that there was no advanced planning whatsoever to mobilize and distribute the aid where it was going to be needed. The bottom line is that this is Trump's Katrina but it will be overlooked by his supporters because, well, its Puerto Rico we are talking about.

The US has 8 Wasp Class amphibious assault ship, which is, among other things, a small aircraft carrier which supports helicopter operations. Given that the USS Comfort was not deployed until this week, I would assume that the order had not been given to send this type of ship to provide logistic support. Naturally this is the only way that you could supply people in remote areas quickly, and get supplies off the docks. With the helicopter, and potentially Osprey operating off the deck you could also support medical transport operations after the supplies have been transferred.

But, you know, who knew?

Oh, and how has the excuse about 'no radar' been let pass? As a tax payer I have spent good coin on AWACS. Although primarily used as an early warning system, I am sure there are ways that flight control could be facilitated from the E-3. We have over 30.

Apparently now the VA chief took a little vacation in the UK in the middle of a work trip with his wife, all paid by the taxpayers. Wimbledon, river cruise, etc.

his followers will not care. there is only one source of truth for them, and that is Trump and his delegates (as long as they are in good favor with Trump), and Trump is saying it will cut their taxes.
