Yeah, I remember it being strange but nice that the would play O Canada when the Expos were the visiting team in baseball, despite an extreme unlikelihood that any Canucks were in the house. But I guess there was a chance.

Do they usually play God Save the Queen (y'know, "America") at English sporting events or were the patrons just as confused at that?

I see in Wikipedia that they used to play it and the end of films, leading to a mad dash during the credits sequence to get out before having to go through this formality. This would never happen in Japan, where everyone sits perfectly quietly through the credits sequence until the house lights go up. They don't play any anthem, though.

I have a feeling this was actually a random thought.

i don't get how this became some big thing that it's required that teams stand at attention for it

i don't remember doing this in sports outside of little league

It's been done for as long as I can remember.

The four smaller parties are all well above the 5% threshold for entering the Bundestag, so there will be six parties in parliament.

I assume she comes to terms with the FDP pretty easily, then it'll be the Greens or Left. I assume the Green party?
