Global warming - still pretty hysterical on both sides.
Indeed, the earth has been warming and cooling for eons before FatCatRepublicans began burning fossil fuels.
Why are so many scientists so "concerned?"
Follow the money.
Why are leaders of key industries dismissive of global warming hype?
Follow the money.
I'm looking for a reasoned analysis of global warming, and there's damn little of it.
From the credible stuff, I can conclude:
1) The earth may be in a warming pattern. Plausible, even likely.
2) Sad polar bears really don't belong in the discussion.
3) If the earth is warming, fossil fuel may be a factor. Plausible.
4) If the earth is warming, it may be a bad thing. It may be a good thing. No real evidence either way.
5) Most summers, there are some nasty hurricanes. Many winters, there are awful snowstorms. Zero evidence that "Global Warming" has anything to do with them. Zero. Stop blaming every extreme weather event on global warming, it's about the dumbest argument that the chicken littles are advancing.
Kill the chicken to scare the monkey
Most accept that there's been a warming trend (although there is recent evidence suggesting that it ended 16 years ago). Not quite a supermajority accept that manmade activity has had an influence on global temperatures.
The earth went through periods of cooling, then warming, many times long before the discovery of fossil fuels. Seems like a stretch to be certain that "this time, it's different."
I'll take the six toed inbred bible thumpers and inflexible, sociopathic Grover Norquists of the world over the unions (both the private sector protectionists and their more annoying public sector cousins), anti-capitalism environmentalists, blame America firsters, and racial grievance groups.
