Yeh, so many of them have brazenly lied about stuff, even under oath, that there will be a ton of obstruction charges. This is much worse than watergate, imho. There could be a treason charge come out of it. Manafort is looking like serious toast and his connections and past actions suggest the darkest of motives.

Adam Schiff makes a very interesting point. It's starting to look like Trump's team thinks Mueller knows that Trump was aware of the Trump Tower meeting.

Anybody who thinks that Donnie Jr. did not run directly to Adolf to tell him about the meeting and the possibility of getting "the goods" on Hillary is either a straight up moron (i.e. a Trump voter) or is being willfully obtuse. Agent Orange, himself, acknowledged knowing about the meeting when he made the speech about having information on Clinton. Are we really supposed to believe it is just a coincidence that Uday and the rest of the Brady Bunch set their meeting with the Russians and hours later Dad is announcing to the world that he was "going to be discussing all of the things that have taken place with the Clintons" the following week?

The bottom line is that our president, his vice president and their teams conspired with a foreign government to try to win an election. It worked. They should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. It is going to be some serious House of Cards-type shit when Paul Ryan is sworn in as president.

Time will have to tell. Unfortunately the actual 'what' of Watergate has been cleaned up significantly. Part of our American History Rehabilitation project has been to soften what actually happened, and how it was led from inside the Oval. Even Nixon's reputation has been reworked so that he is held in esteem, and with honor. Nothing coming out of Watergate should be view with any sense of dignity. It is hard to top what heppened in the office with what happened before someone took office. The president was a crook.

He was much, much worse then he is given credit for. His crimes should demand a redaction of portion accomplishment. There should be no library in Yorba Linda. The scale of the transgression against the American people that is Watergate is underestimated, the thrown around with little regard. Between how the term is so loosely used today (thanks Trump), and what I saw as documentation in my son's AP US History book, it results in an impression of really bad. Really bad is not even the starting point. There is not enough villainization (not sure that is a word) available to encompass how truly horrific it was. Terms like 'overreach of power' are tragically inadequate to describe what actually happened.

I guess living through it, even as a kid, it was so traumatic that there is little comparable. My memory of the events sees so much more significant then described today, in almost every way.

This started when they use those funds to run advertising against the program itself, so they are just continuing I suppose. The prick behind it does not have enough people watching him closely with all the ring master BS from the WH. I truly worry that while we are watching the freak show that we will all miss something important. Some stupid tweet (storm) will distract us from recognizing a horror happening in a department.

I don't think I'm understating how bad watergate was. I'm saying that I think this is worse, largely because it seems as if our president and/or his team actively worked with a hostile foreign government to undermine democracy and maybe even help weaken the country. Add that to the attacks on the free press, attempts to solidify (forever?) power by messing with voting regs (the fake voter fraud commission) and possibly machines, stoking of racial hatred, etc, etc, and I think I can make a case that this is worse. Nixon was a bad guy and he used his position to help himself and his party, but I didn't think he actually tried to bring the ruin of the US, or at least that wasn't the goal. I think that is actually Bannon's stated goal.

I was born in '67, so I'm not quite old enough to remember watergate, but I did know about everything you listed. So back off, old man.
