Although my initial thoughts about this being just lacking in understanding of what a government shutdown entails, and how much it actually costs the economy, much less the nations morale, I did not actually stop to think what we're talking about a republican president with a Republican Senate and a Republican Congress threatening to shut down the government. I know absurdity is the new normal, but this is incredibly inept. If you think that Trump can't get anything done, and you're waiting for the next fact, if that next act this to shut down the government, he's obviously just showing he's a total buffoon.

I understand his baseball not understand this at all. It will not understand that their mail will not be delivered, it will not catch key elements of things like weather forecasting potentially going sideways in hurricane season, they won't get mail, taxe collections will not be managed, etc., they won't understand that everything the government does will be sent on a little siesta.

Of course it's all based on Trump not understanding that his words, as The president, matter. But the gravity of saying something like the government will shut down over his petty inability to get his job done, just serve as a reminder of his incompetence and that his ridiculously short sighted promises, are not as important as operating the United States government.
