I did not make it too far into the rally last night, but the opening stuff ~1030 was crazy stupid. Not time like the present to rewrite history. I could literally not stomach his take on what he wrote and said about Charlottesville. I mean he stood there and edited his comments live, stating it as fact his words without owning his omissions. Even my spouse who is less politically engaged was outraged. It was so over the top, in an era of Trump over the top, that I needed to just go away.

I will catch up on the what's what later, but I did see an Amazon.com Lobbying article (WaPo) that the crowds thinned while Trump ranted, and saw a CNN bit where they talked to Trupies who don't believe Charlottesville because of Facebook (a video of a guy who knows a guy who talked to a gal who saw the KKK and BLM getting off the same bus).

Yeah, but they made the BLM people sit in the back.

You would need to get 19 Rs in the Senate and 96 Rs in the House to make the incompetent charge stick, correct? He may actually have to shoot somebody on 5th Avenue for that to happen. And then you'd have idiots like Barletta, Collins and Blackburn saying the victim probably deserved it. Plus Pence would have to be in on it and that likely wouldn't play well to the base.

Trump claimed that some of the business leaders who left the business advisory board still meet with him privately.

“These people just don't get it. They are calling, and saying, 'How about getting together privately?' They like it better. Why should they be on a council?” Trump said.

You PA based players can get a job cleaning coal!

“We've ended the war on beautiful, clean coal, and it's just been announced that a second, brand-new coal mine, where they're going to take out clean coal — meaning, they're taking out coal, they're going to clean it — is opening in the state of Pennsylvania"
