For a guy who is supposed to be some kind of negotiating savant, his negotiating style doesn't seem to have much "depth".

You can tell that Trump had nothing to do with the actual raising of his kids because if he did then he would know that you don't make threats that you aren't afraid to actually follow through on.

pretty luke-warm takes, I guess.

Roger Dorn wrote:@thehill Poll: Nearly half of Republicans would back postponing 2020 election if Trump proposed it

According to a poll published by The Washington Post:

- 52 percent of Republicans said they would back a postponement of the next election if Trump called for it.

- If Trump and congressional Republicans proposed postponing the election to ensure only eligible citizens could vote, support from Republicans rises to 56 percent.

- Pollsters found 47 percent of Republicans think Trump won the popular vote.

- A majority of Republicans, 68 percent, also thinks millions of illegal immigrants voted in the presidential election

- 73 percent think voter fraud happens somewhat or very often.

So it was a WaPo poll. And given the breakdown I supplied above, it is worse then you think.

Can they postpone a presidential election? That doesn't seem constitutional at all.

Not very. It's not a Washington Post poll. It is on The Monkey Cage blog, which hosts blog posts about poli sci research.

They asked a bunch of questions about voter fraud, highlighted above, then asked:

If Donald Trump were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote, would you support or oppose postponing the election?

Which is not to say beliefs about millions of illegal votes are good or that it's not a problem that a decent sized chunk of people say they'd be for postponing an election. But if you're looking for a real measure of how many people support delaying the presidential election until only eligible voters can vote, you wouldn't ask a series of questions about voter fraud before it.

Seems like a hypothetical. It would have been interesting to get that call. Because they have no idea what I am, I get calls from both parties. Mostly I tell them to pound sand.

Guess I fell down the rabbit hole: TheHill reports that WaPo reports based on the WaPo blog having accessing to creating poll. It was a legitimate poll (vs a click bait), albeit very small sample (1325, focused on 650 respondents).

The specific day is set by statute, so it can be changed. 3 U.S.C. § 1.

That being said, Inauguration Day is set by the 20th Amendment, so that cannot be changed without further amendment. Further, the term of four years is set by Article Two of the Constitution, so Trump's term cannot be extended without further amendment.

There was a discussion in the common area of my office that included the following:

1) who do you trust more Trump or Un. The answer was 'the brain' to which the other person said 'Trump is Pinkey, right'
2) who would you trust to watch your dog? Again, Un (I quietly applauded the lack of menu joke, but I am sure everyone thought it)
3) 'still think Un is more rational because he could have erased Soul and its 15M residents anytime in the last 7 years, but Trump has put those people in play just 6 months.'
4) 'counter point is that Un took out his uncle and half-brother' with the counter-counter point that 'at least he had a pan that succeeded'

It was pretty amazing because most of my co-workers are rather conservative. I took my food from the microwave and split quickly.

The first, but surely not the last Trump WH sex scandal has reached it apex with thebirth of Jason Miller's illegitimate son. Miller's wife, you may recall, gave birth in January, about the time Miller quit and his lover called him Baby Daddy. Miller's wife accepted the situation. In a way Miller is much luckier then I, because if it were me, I'd be dead and buried in a shallow ditch.
