Poor Acosta. He'll be out of prison before there is any action on anyone else.

A federal grand jury has indicted former Reading Mayor Vaughn D. Spencer, former Reading School Board President Rebecca Acosta, and business consultant James Hickey with a host of pay-to-play allegations.

Acosta is the wife of former City Council President Francis G. Acosta, who is already serving a prison term for accepting a bribe in the case.

Regardless, Mayor Pawlowski told 69 News he does not plan to resign nor does he plan to drop out of the race for mayor.

Politico reported Tuesday that White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci prompted the resignation of assistant press secretary Michael Short by telling Politico that he planned to fire Short as part of an effort to stop leaks to the press.

When Short resigned shortly after Politico published Scaramucci’s stated plans, Scaramucci went on to blame the Politico report for Short’s resignation.
