“The scandals are about the president’s lies, about voter fraud, about wire-tapping, his repeated lies about those issues. That’s the scandal,” Stelter said as Conway interrupted him, saying: “excuse me?” when he suggested Trump had lied.

She responded: “He doesn’t think he’s lying about those issues, and you know it. He has gone forth and he talked about surveillance.”

But Stelter interrupted her, stating: “A lot of husbands don’t think they’re lying when they cheat on their spouse and then say they’re not. It doesn’t mean they’re not lying.”

She hit back: “Oh are you back to the Clinton’s now, what are you talking about? What kind of analogy is that?”

This is a strange discussion when KAC was on CNN. Somewhere between 'he is not lying because he believes it' , and skating on Trump's general lifestyle by reapplying it to Bill.

They'll have to pass it to find out what's in it.

Seems to be intense pressure to just vote yes and fix it later. That sound stupidly familiar.

I wonder if the cowards in the House who voted yes because the Senate would fix the bill are still a yes. I wonder if more Republican nos will vote yes to be on the "winning" side.

Winning side? They don't have the votes in the Senate to repeal unless I am mistaken.

supposedly Trump wants Rudy as the new AG (guessing he's going to fire Sessions)

I mean, would he even get through confirmation?

Just be glad he is not putting Tiffany up. She is local at GTown Law (I think that is where she landed), so she would meet the two main criteria: Family, and knowing little to nothing about the job.

I did a quick look and she came up as: Model/Singer/Internet celebrity, but saw she start her career as a Hoya in the fall. Penn/GTown would say that her reputation aside, she has some smarts.

To me, it's dismaying not only how little attention (or, at least, sustained attention) this story has gotten but how it has been portrayed.

Focus seems to be strictly on whether this is a quid pro quo between Trump/Putin (with the loudest voices being, "oh no, certainly not!",even from "mainstream" sources) and how "ineffective" it's been, so it certainly had to stop anyway.

While it certainly never brought the downfall of Assad any closer, it did manage to sustain the effectiveness of these groups, necessitated the Russians becoming more overt (and to deploy more resources) in support of Assad and positioned the US in support of moderate groups in the area.

Now the US has no position or leverage whatsoever. It is true that at some point it becomes cruel to sustain fighting without putting yourself in a position to engineer any kind of a long term solution. But as it is Trump has ceded control of Syria to the Russians and Iraq to the Iranians without any real discussion or even statement of intent. One can certainly ask whether this inevitable or might be in the best interests of the US, and perhaps the answer would be positive, But it's a question that should be asked in the open and probably needs a similar amount of discussion as to the days of deliberation over who Jared Kushner had lunch with.

i'm all for ceasing arming of rebel groups (i wasn't for entering syria very much), but the lack of anything in return is pretty unsettling and doesn't bode well for future negotiations on much of anything in the foreign policy arena. there is no strategy, no mission, and no goals.

Jar Jar Trump addressing humanity. His reading is OK. Providing his statement that he is vindicated! Of course there is some reason to declare victory in the election. That last bit is to proclaim that the Russia thing is an insult to American's who voted Trump to the podium to speak for America, but it is also for papa trump's ears too.

The close was great. "I look forward to answer questions <slight pause/the press collective goes into heat> of the house committee". Unintentionally funny.

While it is all frothy about the recent revelation of the Junior meeting to talk adoption (i.e., sanctions) with 162 Russian's in a ballroom rented by a Russian lawyer in Trump Tower, the focus need to remain on JarJar's attempt to set up a back channel to Russia. Nothing to see there.

His coaching is to portray himself as recklessly inept, grossly incompetent, utterly forgetful, and significantly clueless. That is exactly who I do not want leading major governmental initiatives with global impact driven through access to government data.

oh, and every other word he uttered, both about ACA and about "the" repeal"/replace measure(s?) are lies. He knows nothing about everything, and should not have ever been born.
