Edit: WaPo delivers on the Trump Lawer on SOTU reference below

When it is available, you should hunt down the CNN State of the Union interview with Jay Sekulow. This guy is one of Trump's lawyers. And he is doing the best tail-chasing I've ever seen explaining that when the president said that he's under investigation he wasn't saying that he was under investigation he was saying that that's what the Washington Post said. Jake Tapper just had to give him hey say what! Then the guy goes on to talk about how effective Trump is using social media while saying that the comment was limited by Trump's use of Twitter.

When I was a kid I would catch Abbott and Costello on Sundays. They were on from like 11 to 12 in the morning or something like that and I would only see part of it. But this interview is the closest thing I have seen to an Abbott and Costello skit in a long time.

Right after the yucks, did turns dark. The guy is arguing that the president cannot be the subject of an investigation, therefore he can not obstruct Justice. Basically giving the president blanket immunity in all cases and causes. This whole royalty line of thinking is frankly terrifying. When we want to start digging into the Constitution and these regards comma then we truly get to some of the points of the framers about tyranny. This is just not where we need to be.

Has John Sununu lost his mind? He is all over CNN about the vindictive media, and how Trump now has some plan that he can support. He sounds just like Lawyer McBumbles (apparently Sekulow is a very good lawyer with a very random client that he is left trying to spin) talking about that the President is not under investigation because he has not been told that he is under investigation.

Even I, as anything but a lawyer, understand that you would not/should not know you are under investigation. I am just imagining the call from 5oh to say a major drug trafficker to give them the curiosity to let them know there is an investigation starting into his/her activities.

Britain treating it as an act of terror targeted at Muslims. Which is obvious, but it's good that the right words are being used. There are probably way too many people who would not consider it terrorism because it didn't target the "right" kind of people.

Fair enough. I had a similar thought, but I don't know the identity of the attacker, so I didn't want to make an assumption in this case. Your point still stands; I don't recall if Dylan Roof's actions get characterized as terrorism - which it obviously was.

Syria bombed US-backed SDF in Raqqa
the coalition, using a US aircraft, shot down said bomber:
The US-led coalition conducted what it said was a "show of force" - a reported buzzing of the pro-government troops by jets - to stop the attack and then called Russia to try to "de-escalate the situation and stop the firing".
However, the Su-22 dropped bombs on SDF positions a few hours later, the coalition said, and "in accordance with rules of engagement and in collective self-defence of coalition-partnered forces [the plane] was immediately shot down".
Attempts to warn the plane away using an emergency radio frequency failed, the US Central Command said.

now:
"Any aircraft, including planes and drones belonging to the international coalition operating west of the Euphrates river, will be tracked by Russian anti-aircraft forces in the sky and on the ground and treated as targets," the Russian defence ministry said.

It denied the US had used a communications channel before the Su-22 fighter bomber was downed.

Looking at our hemisphere, we are missing a huge opportunity in Latin America by reengaging in hostilities with Cuba and basically ignoring the plight of Venezuela.

was this posted? :

Over the last 12 months, about 70% of buyers of Trump properties were limited liability companies – corporate entities that allow people to purchase property without revealing all of the owners’ names. That compares with about 4% of buyers in the two years before.

USA TODAY journalists have spent six months cataloging every condo, penthouse or other property that Trump and his companies own – and tracking the buyers behind every transaction. The investigation found Trump’s companies owned more than 430 individual properties worth well over $250 million.

Since Election Day, Trump’s businesses have sold 28 of those U.S. properties for $33 million. The sales include luxury condos and penthouses in Las Vegas and New York and oceanfront lots near Los Angeles. The value of his companies' inventory of available real estate remains above a quarter-billion dollars.

Unlike developments where Trump licenses his name to a separate developer for a flat fee, profits from selling individual properties directly owned by his companies ultimately enrich him personally.

Trump has never disclosed a complete, unit-by-unit inventory of his companies' real estate holdings or sales, nor is he required to do so by federal law. Trump says he's separated himself from his businesses, but the trust set up in January is run by his sons. Trump is the only beneficiary and can withdraw funds at any time.

completely on the up and up:
Days later, the newly minted company went on a buying spree. Milan spent $3.1 million over four months to buy 11 luxury condos in a shimmering golden tower near the Strip that Trump owns with friend and casino mogul Phil Ruffin. Trump Ruffin LLC collected the last of the money weeks before Trump was elected.

Milan Investment tracks back to what appears to be an incorrect address, the strip mall office of a financial services firm.

On the deeds from Milan’s purchases, Eric Trump signed for the sellers. An accountant signed for the buyers, and deeds do not identify any people behind Milan.

USA TODAY tracked corporate, loan and property records across Nevada, Texas and Canada to tie three names to Milan Investment.

In Nevada, where rules let anyone form companies without identifying the owners, Milan’s officers are listed as Jun Xu and Qi Huang with an address at an office suite on the outskirts of Las Vegas.

Additional documents underlying the sale give two more addresses, both million-dollar condos in Vancouver, for Xu and Huang. Canadian records indicate they own both and hold a license to rent one. The records list Xu as a “businessman” and Huang as a “housewife.”

Mitch is too busy for these guys, why should the Democrats be WHINING?!
This week, a group of more than 15 patients groups -- including the American Heart Assn., the March of Dimes, the American Lung Assn. and the American Diabetes Assn. -- asked McConnell’s office to meet with them next week, proposing any time between Friday and June 22.

A representative from McConnell’s office told them staff schedules were too busy, according to representatives of several of the organizations.

The DUMBOCRATS would just complain about the bill if we saw the bill:
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said holding public hearings about the legislation would only give Democrats more opportunity to attack the bill.

“We have zero cooperation from the Democrats,” he said. “So getting it in public gives them a chance to get up and scream.”

Sure, the 13 people picked to work on the bill are all Republican Senators and they're not using any standing committees where normal amendments might be offered and hearings held, but still: WHY ARE THE DEMOCRATS NOT HELPING?!
