Not likely but scary that we are now progressing that way per this classified document. And quite interesting that Putin accused Hilary of direct interference in his election.

Each state administers its own elections. Within states counties and sometimes cities and towns are responsible for the administration.

On one level our thoroughly decentralized federal election administration is kinda dumb. On another it makes it more or less impossible that Russia could've hacked it to any effect.

Probably true but they sent out a lot of phishing emails and they didn't need to move the needle much to make a difference. It's pretty scary shit

all of those things save covfefe are historically significant events in modern US politics. they also represent a diametric opposition to a lot of American's belief systems, so in most cases I think the response has been justified. that you think the stepping out of the Paris Accord is just meh, is a pretty unfortunate and sad perspective to a lot of folks, including me. climate change is a huge threat to global security. I'd like to stave off the evil that it will bring as long as possible. that you also think people are responding negatively to this is because we're all sheltered millennials indoctrinated by universities is definitely an unfair and inaccurate projection that borders on drunk racist uncle type #$!&@.

1) Re: the diametric opposition to a lot of Americans belief systems, Trump ran on a platform based on removing Obamacare, reducing taxes, and kicking up the US response to terrorism and was elected, so I'm not really sure how you can say that unless you're using the popular vote argument. Either way, that's a thin margin.

2) Where did I say that I don't believe climate change is a huge threat or that I support the decision to pull out of the Paris accord? Nowhere. What I'm saying is I don't know if the reaction fits the action.

3) You completely mischaracterized my point about millennials, which is not the typical "liberal universities rabble rabble" bullshit. My point is we spent some of our formative political years in college during a Dem presidency and are now faced with a stark change from the only political ideology we've ever seen in power as teens/adults. That combination would lead to outrage over any R president, let alone this guy, because we have not lived in a GOP-controlled US during any point of our adult lives.

4) AGAIN, I VOTED FOR HILLARY. I'm just trying to bring some semblance of a moderate opinion here and trying to sort through the shock and outrage to what actually will come to fruition vs what is based on potential.

He's clearly building the excuse for when this gets shot down by the SC.

"I tried to live up to my promise voters. There's just too much red tape in DC blocking me from keeping you all safe."

It's downright perfect strategy if you know your order is DOA. Building towards using an attack in the US for political gain.

I am not a lawyer though I think Trump's EO would be constitutional if ordered by Obama or anyone else who hadn't said what he did in the campaign. And I think it stood a very good chance of being upheld by the court considering how most justices feel about literal intent and whatnot. If campaign promises could come into play, would Obamacare have stood? But Trump continues to gong reality over the head with a hammer, and much as I might love Gorsuch pleading textualism, I would not be surprised this ending up unanimous or nearly unanimous against the administration. And he could've won on the merits if he kept his Twitter mouth shut.

my guess is he will go after Ginsburg, Kagan, and Sotomayor.

How did 'American Greatness' and 'American Exceptionalism' become euphemisms for xenophobic anti-intellectualism? By revolting against intellectualism, I specifically mean a full willingness to embrace ignorance with an unchecked pride in ones unyielding stupidity.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid. - Benjamin Franklin

Epipen:
Not quite. What’s more, Mylan is back in the news. On Wednesday, regulators said the company had most likely overcharged Medicaid by $1.27 billion for EpiPens. The same day, a group of pension funds announced that they hoped to unseat much of Mylan’s board for “new lows in corporate stewardship,” including paying the chairman $97 million in 2016, more than the salaries of the chief executives at Disney, General Electric and Walmart combined.

However, in many other cases, outrage is ineffective. Mylan’s behavior persists because it is hard, and often tedious, for employees and the public to continue complaining — particularly when bosses disagree, or when some newer outrage appears on our Facebook feed.

In meetings, the executives began warning Mylan’s top leaders that the price increases seemed like unethical profiteering at the expense of sick children and adults, according to people who participated in the conversations. Over the next 16 months, those internal warnings were repeatedly aired. At one gathering, executives shared their concerns with Mylan’s chairman, Robert Coury.

Mr. Coury replied that he was untroubled. He raised both his middle fingers and explained, using colorful language, that anyone criticizing Mylan, including its employees, ought to go copulate with themselves. Critics in Congress and on Wall Street, he said, should do the same. And regulators at the Food and Drug Administration? They, too, deserved a round of anatomically challenging self-fulfillment.

All 12 people swept up by London police this past Sunday have since been released with no charges.
Late on Monday, police released without charge all 12 people arrested on Sunday in police raids on two addresses in Barking, East London, in connection with Saturday's terrorist attacks.

Seven of the arrested were women, aged between 19 to 60, and five were men, aged between 28 and 55-years-old.

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — The Philippine government temporarily suspended the deployment of Filipino workers to Qatar on Tuesday, fearing food riots and other potential problems amid the diplomatic crisis gripping the tiny Gulf nation, the labor secretary said.

Silvestre Bello said there was no plan yet to repatriate the more than 200,000 Filipino workers in Qatar.

"If anything happens and they run out of food and food riots take place, definitely our OFWs will be the first victims," Bello said, using the acronym for overseas Filipino workers. "We need to adopt preparatory measures to meet the possible exigency."

Filipino officials and recruitment agencies have been asked to ensure that Filipino workers in Qatar are safe and have adequate food stocks.

The Philippines is a major labor supplier, with about a tenth of more than 100 million Filipinos working abroad because of inadequate jobs and other opportunities at home.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte met in April with King Salman in Saudi Arabia, where hundreds of thousands of Filipinos work as nurses, domestic helpers, drivers, waiters and technicians. Duterte's visit was aimed at boosting Saudi investments in the Philippines and strengthening ties with the Middle East heavyweight.

He also visited Qatar and Bahrain during the trip. The region is home to the largest group of Filipinos working overseas. More than 1 million Filipinos reside and work in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain.

I continue to run into an age old sediment, which renewed fanning of flames by the surrogates, that support of the president is demanded as respect for the office. With that toxic training in play, it is useful to revisit the thoughts of a previous Republican president on the matter.

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.” ― Theodore Roosevelt
