What Democrats are doing will be the first, and last, successful partisan filibuster of a #SCOTUS nomination in the history of the #Senate.
I hate the Turtle so much.

"We can't necessarily focus on Assad the way that the previous administration did," she said.
there was a chance several years ago but Obama did not want to go in....because then what? It's a tough situation, an impossible one where the inability to figure it out will be Obama's biggest failure, but the mixed signals being sent here by the new administration are basically a green light to Assad to continue his rampage.
The Obama administration was certainly guilty of mixed signals. This was not a mixed signal at all. This was a green light. I certainly hope more people draw a direct line between this and the hacking out destroyed lungs in Syria.

Joe Manchin is the only Senator who opposed killing the filibuster in 2013 and 2017.

Statement from Nunes -
"Several leftwing activist groups have filed accusations against me with the Office of Congressional Ethics. The charges are entirely false and politically motivated, and are being leveled just as the American people are beginning to learn the truth about the improper unmasking of the identities of U.S. citizens and other abuses of power. Despite the baselessness of the charges, I believe it is in the best interests of the House Intelligence Committee and the Congress for me to have Representative Mike Conaway, with assistance from Representatives Trey Gowdy and Tom Rooney, temporarily take charge of the Committee's Russia investigation while the House Ethics Committee looks into this matter."

CIVIL WAR
Steve Bannon Calls Jared Kushner a ‘Cuck’ and ‘Globalist’ Behind His Back
Donald Trump’s two closest aides are fighting “nonstop” and often “face-to-face,” officials say — and it’s even uglier in private.
Donald Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon has called the president’s senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner a “cuck” and a “globalist” during a time of high tension between the two top aides, several Trump administration officials told The Daily Beast.
The fighting between Kushner and Bannon has been “nonstop” in recent weeks, according to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. It’s been an “open secret” that Bannon and Kushner often clash “face-to-face,” according to senior officials.
One official said Bannon has lately complained about Kushner trying to “shiv him and push him out the door” and likened him to a fifth column in the White House.
“[Steve] recently vented to us about Jared being a ‘globalist’ and a ‘cuck’…He actually said ‘cuck,’ as in “cuckservative,’” the administration official told The Daily Beast.
