After an interminable delay, Spicer starts his presser ... and goes into interminable delay mode

I'm pretty sure he's gonna read the crop report, right after his update on the WH easter egg hunt lottery

America First Budget. Are not all budgets for America's success? Beating this idea that the heroes of the people are here to make up for the enemies of the state that ran the nation previously is infuriating. Troubling is that this propaganda 101 stuff actually plays in a huge part of the country.

Decent read, especially towards the end.

nice timing

the use of Hitler and Nazis is certainly overused, but when your government is staffed & run by people who believe in an ethnic purity of our country, who vilify minorities at every turn to create an "other" (Mexicans, Muslims, blacks (over use of inner-city as an adjective to describe AAs & describing inner cities as hell, etc.), and your base consists largely of white nationalists, white power advocates, and yes, Nazis, then it becomes a useful parable. I guess you could reference Tutsis & Hutus in Rwanda, or Serbs & Croats in Bosnia, but they don't carry the same resonance or impact.

this is kind of a reality of American politics I haven't really wrapped my head around yet. how does the left do what the left is supposed to do, which is create a society that focuses on equality for as many as possible, but still attract this really lazy, idiotic part of white america that hates identity politics?

also,

• Cuts FEMA state and local grant funding by $667 million, including the Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program and Homeland Security Grant Program

wish we had a recent example of what happens when FEMA isn't properly managed.....

also, cutting 100% of funding to the "Chemical Saftey Board," which is "an independent U.S. federal agency charged with investigating industrial chemical accidents.

This budget is disgusting on its face, and the defense by the Administration is feeble and reprehensible.

"There's this feeling in Washington that when you lose money, it's a cut."

The wise words of Sean Spicer.

Spicer: "There's an assumption in Washington that if you get less money it's a cut."
