King from 2013:

Rep. Steve King, Republican of Iowa, falls into the latter category. In July he made the ridiculous, now notorious claim that for every child of illegal immigrants “who’s a valedictorian, there’s another 100 out there who weigh 130 pounds and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’re hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert.”

So it went further than the Tweet vid I saw. He also wants to see an America in the future that's just so homogenous that we look a lot the same.

There was something on the Des Moines Register website... to me, all Iowa is "local." I don't know what parts his district actually covers.

So the president is having a pizza party to push his agenda. Honestly, if you can be bought off with pizza you are a sad, sad human. Maybe they will get the pizza from Comet Ping Pong.

FWIW: PIzzagate is alive an well. There are apparently whole websites dedicated to Pizzagate's veracity and the complicity of Comet Ping Pong. Of course there has to be the conspiracy and coverup aspect.

north and west of Des moines and to the northern and western borders towards Sioux Falls and west toward Omaha; good to hear it was in the Register. it looks like it was in the 'bigger' papers but not the local equivalents of the Pottstown Mercury.

Steve King is my congressman. There, I said it. We were incorporated into his district after the 2010 census reduced Iowa to 4 congressmen. We had been in the district represented by Tom Latham, a typical conservative Republican who wasn't known for doing much but at least never said anything approaching what King says. The district includes a few liberal areas such as Story County, home of Iowa State University and a few other cities but the core of the electorate are Evangelical Christians. Most vote primarily on social issues and outwardly show no signs of racism but I know plenty who would say differently in private. The county I live in supported Trump, the first Republican presidential candidate it has supported since at least 1988. I couldn't find stats for anything prior to 1992. If you lived in my town you would totally understand how someone as vile as King becomes a congressman.
