def one of my favorite parts of the bill. it's not a mandate anymore! if you ever go without for 63 days you'll just have to pay 30% extra...to health insurance companies...for 12 months. a short lapse is more expensive on this than obamacare but a long lapse is obviously cheaper. smart!

death spirals are very very serious things we should avoid UNLESS you are able to give more money to insurance companies.

And left-wingers thought the ACA was a giveaway to corps!

This seems important to some members of elected government >> Repeals the 10% tax on indoor tanning services.

Good to see employers will get to drop insurance benefits >> Nullifies the employer mandate — the requirement that larger employers provide qualifying coverage to full-time workers — by reducing the penalty for failing to comply to $0.

Don't need this stuff >> Repeals all appropriations for the Prevention and Public Health Fund, which provides funding to a variety of public health concerns, like Alzheimer’s research, diabetes prevention, heart disease prevention, anti-smoking initiatives, immunization, scientific support for state and local officials to detect and respond to outbreaks, and much more.

dickish for certain. FWIW, access to communications for the poor is critical. When an employer emails or calls... Or if there is an emergency... I don't think we need to make this a discussion of Hero Phones, but basic smart phones are actually rather important.

So Trump's fact about "122 vicious" Gitmo prisoners that re-entered the battlefield. 113 of those released were under GWB, only 9 under Obama. This tweet was (of course) brought on by a Fox & Friends segment/tweet about how a former Gitmo detainee was killed in a Yemen airstrike, and that "at least" 122 former detainees have re-engaged. The segment/tweet did not attribute the number to President Obama, but Trump never lets facts ruin a good narrative!

Yea, I just read about that. It's disgusting. The response the Marines United had on Reddit sounded like classic bro-splaining of a Frat incident. I think it's admirable to have support groups to help current and former Marines, but there is a line. This isn't a bunch of alpha males being alpha males, it's sexual harassment.

Here is a refinment on the $500K thing:

Insurance companies could get a big tax break. Obamacare allowed insurance companies to deduct only $500,000 of their executives' pay as a business expense. The GOP bill would repeal that limitation, starting in 2018.

In fact it is actually more horrible then reported here as it is 'all executive pay', and that well will be deep.

Don't worry, THIS time it'll trickle down.

The copies of the bill are very active, or they are using a laptop as the web server. I cannot read the text at work, but I cannot even get it to load.
