Nah. Didn't watch Girls (tried but wasn't for me). I am very interested in Silence and Logan Lucky tho
wait so then how do you know he sucks if he's OK in star wars and you didnt watch his most prominent role

I have seen other things with him and hard pass
he's basically bit parts on everything else.

Well, not Patterson, where he's excellent. Surprised me some since I wasn't knocked out by his work in Girls and Star Wars, though that was more the fault of the roles he was given.

Call Me By Your Name is enchanting if a bit overrated. Timothee Chalamet owns the camera

Going to see The Post with great people on Friday followed by dinner and a beer at the Scoreboard!

Good Times.

IT was fine. Not really scary, but Pennywise was fantastic. Chubby kid was a boss.

Watched Logan Lucky on the plane. Didn't like it really at all. I didn't realize until the end that it was a Soderbergh film. If I had known, I would have skipped it. I think he's ridiculously overrated. I'm probably alone in that thinking, but something about his films just doesn't resonate with me. Very bland and nothing interesting about the way he does things.

Watched Jungle Book late one night at the hotel. Very nicely done, a great retelling of the story. I saw it before, but enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time.

Another first time Hitchcock viewing which led me to a scorching white hot take: Vertigo is wildly overrated.

I think I agree with you on that. I liked it, but it's not nearly my fav hitchcock film.

there's some great stuff about it, but I remember it demanding such an unreasonable suspension of disbelief that it just feels like a farce by the end

Has anybody seen Phantom Thread? One theater by me is getting it this weekend and I'm excited as hell to see this movie.

Outta respect, I watched There Will Be Blood again. It's still a masterpiece. It's the best film of the 2000s imo.

I used to think wes anderson and PT anderson were the same person. I couldn't believe how many great movies this uberman was making. Then I found out they were two different people and I was still amazed how many great movies they were making. They are THAT good.

It's like when I was in Alaska on a tour and some guy from Texas starting spouting off about Alaska not being the biggest state because it's not attached to the other 49 or something like that. So the tour guy said, "well, if you don't like it, we could split alaska in half and then texas would be the 3rd largest." Shut that yahoo right up. Wes and PT Anderson have enough great stuff on their own is the point of that story.... no need to combine them.

I have tried several times and the result is always the same. I don't like Wes Anderson movies.
