[Reveal] Spoiler: Read the books
This makes me appreciate the "ending" of the series a lot more. It's nice that the Dark Tower Saga lends itself to whatever retelling they want to do.

the kid Calogero in A Bronx Tale is a way better actor than the teenage Calogero. The latter seemed very wooden

unrelated but Who Framed Roger Rabbit still holds up as a masterpiece

He also failed to learn the lessons that his character learned

In December 2005, Brancato was charged with second-degree murder for his role in a burglary in the Bronx, New York in which an off-duty police officer, Daniel Enchautegui, confronted two burglars and was killed in a shootout. Brancato was subsequently acquitted of murder, but was convicted of first-degree attempted burglary and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was released on parole on December 31, 2013. Co-defendant Steven Armento was convicted of firing the fatal shot in a separate trial and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Some strange, good, but strange movies were made in the '70s. Among them was Winter Kills (1979), a black 'comedy' (definitely not "ha ha" funny, and eerily prescient seen from our current circumstances) loosely organized around a mashup of Kennedy conspiracy theories. John Huston in the Joe Kennedy role (and basically reprising the same patriarch who raised - and razed - Faye Dunaway in Chinatown), Jeff Bridges as Bobby/Teddy/all other Kennedys, and a supporting cast that includes Tony Perkins, Eli Wallach, Sterling Hayden, Ralph Meeker, Richard Boone, and Liz Taylor in a bit part - uncredited! - as a sort of mid-century Pearl Mesta.

But none of that is the strange part. The strange part is that the movie was produced by two drug dealers who found themselves behind on accounts due to mafia lenders to such an extent that one of them was murdered by said mobsters midway through the film's production.

Needless to say that brought production to a halt, and it took two more years for interested & presumably drug-free parties to round up the necessary dough to complete the already waaaaaaaay over-budget film.

It's not any participant's greatest work (but not anyone's worst), it was directed by a guy who never made anything else of note (William Richert, who did portray "Bob" in My Own Private Idaho), and probably was out of synch with its time given that production, uhm, hiccup. Strange, watchable, very much of the '70s.

Baywatch is terrible but it's funny and all the hot people are in it. That's a net positive review
