That guy was interviewed on Fox News before the event. So, one of two likely scenarios. Trump was watching him live on Fox News (again, while getting stuff done for his constituents) or this guy was a pure plant for the start. Or both.

Took this from a Facebook post of a person that I trust about this kind of stuff:

The purpose of his rally yesterday was apparently to announce his 2020 campaign. This is intended to silence the voices of federal employees. As OSC explained in guidance it issued last week:

"As with past Presidents running for reelection, once President Trump officially announces that he is a candidate in the 2020 election, the Hatch Act will prohibit federal employees while on duty or in the workplace from, for example, wearing or displaying pictures or other items, or engaging in communications, that are directed at the success or failure of his candidacy. This prohibition is broad and encompasses more than displays or communications that expressly advocate for or against President Trump's reelection."

That's an intriguing theory, makes a bunch of sense.

But it feels like if your objection has to do with some particular thing (not directly related to your job) that he's doing, or even how disgusted you are with his mere existence on our planet, rather than to do more specifically with his re-election, you wouldn't be violating Hatch.
