I am. Get out, see/greet/talk with people who share your basic views, fortify your decision to call up a congresscritter, vote in local elections, etc. It's not a lot of big things, it's a few quite surprisingly little things that moves the needle
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Trump pledges healthcare for all Americans per an interview with WaPo. FWIW, it's a calming article.

Single payer labeled "Trumpcare" would probably get him re-elected.

It's a promise he will never fulfill. He will blame Hillary for not getting it done.

Hear on CNN at the cafe near work: 'Donald Trump feuding with a civil right icon and intel chief days before the inauguration, what can he do to bring the country together? We will talk with former NC Governor Pat McCrory next.' Pat FUCKING McCrory, really?!?

As a reality check, is all this divisiveness not exactly the what a foreign power wants? They likely do not want control of the white house, that comes to light in a messy way, but pitting the citizens against each other and against the government is the type of chaos that pays untold benefits (like doing more or less whatever they want while we are otherwise distracted). Didn't anyone watch Cpt. America Civil War?

Speaking of watching TV and Movies to inform the playbook (speaking to myself in this case), my wife pointed out that they tried to move the Press Briefing Room out of the WH in the TV what, The West Wing. Season 2, episode 11 apparently, called The Leadership Breakfast. Predictably it 1) did not work, and 2) hilariously is similar to the now.

summary here

C.J. and Sam have a discussion about Sam's proposal to move the press to the OEOB. C.J. tells him to don't even mention it again because it sends the wrong message to the country and would alienate the press. He tries a different tack with Josh and asks for a question to be added to the monthly poll about moving the press corps out of the West Wing.

Told them the US wouldn't be far behind

I've gotten to the point that I basically think Trump voters (we used to call them republican, btw, because that's what they are for the most part) are a bunch of pussies who were in such dire need of a daddy figure to keep them safe from librruls and terrorists and immigrants and blacks and gays and transgenders and the IRS and, dare I say, common sense, that they were willing to destroy everything that is great about this country. Empty-headed cowards. Their whole political philosophy is based on "please someone hold me I'm so damned scared."

Until you and your cohorts remove yourself from this bubble, you are not going to win elections. Trump won because millions and millions of people who voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012 cast their vote for Trump in this election. You can continue to label them as racists and bigots and cowards, but that really is just ignorance and excuse-making for your parties terrible direction and performance. Seemingly your answer is to move your party further in the direction that caused Trump to win the election in the first place.

Keep it up.........

it sure looked to me like TRump spent his whole campaign trying to make people afraid of every little thing. And it worked. The fact that SOME obama supporters voted for Trump doesn't discount anything I just said.

Don't engage the moron. Republicans barely won. The idea that everything is broken forever is laughable.

Trump and this Republican congress now gets its chance to shine. No more blaming completeness ineptness on others!

This will end fine!

Though, we have learned that Republicans are willing to directly or indirectly solicit international interventional to erode our democracy and keep power. When your values no longer represent a majority of the people, start to get the people to fit your values. You know, like Russia.

Look at the election results from the last 8 years. Democrats are losing in massive numbers at every level.

-Nearly 1000 state legislature seats
-12 Governors
-69 House seats
-13 Senate Seats

Has the party ever been in more trouble in recent time? And apparently their answer is to move further left.

You sound like Kevin Bacon in Animal House.

As much heat as Brantt is given, he has a fair point that the democrat leaning general population seems to be doing a fine job of playing ostrich (fact check time, it is a myth that ostriches put their head in the sand, or they would die) about. The polled population seems to despise the US House and Senate, those positions keep getting restocked with GOP members (the Democrats are hardly lighting the world on fire in these posts). State matters are always curious, less so Governors and more so legislatures, which meet irregularly by FTE standards, in most states, and seem to work in somewhat opaque ways unless you can really invest in stopping and staring at what is happening in the state houses. The GOP went from the party publicly in election crisis (I am sure as the slight of hand wears off from the election, the apparent dysfunction will return 1000 fold), to the DNC in a fairly complete meltdown.

I, for one, am curious to see what transpires to repair the standing of the DNC. Also, who leads the rearchitecting. I have some ideas of who is available. Moreover, I think that DNC will get some very visible help from Twitter in Chief.

But again, nobody is disputing the fact that dems are losing ground. What I dispute is the reason. This is a strawman.

correct. And to discount the effect of gerrymandering on the house races is another issue. So basically they're setting it up so they can't lose and denigrate the opponents' platform as the reason for losing.

Remember Hillary got 3M more votes. That is the opposite of a mandate.
