here's a pointless rant: i don't know shit about shit but it still irritates me that these guys would rather yell angrily at democrats and centrists on twitter (yes i know i had my moment on the board yesterday, but i am frustrated by how powerless dems seem to be) but spend like 20% of that time going after conservatives and libertarians. i even agree with them that dem leaders need to be held more accountable for not fighting republicans, but the way they go about it seems so futile. even fucking bernie would disagree with them on this stuff (he supported hillary pretty vocally after she got the nom ffs). when you're out there arguing, "actually stalin and lenin and castro were great" with little to no nuance...

but DSA (dem socialists of america) have been gaining a lot more members since the election. i think that's a good thing.

but again, it's impossible to engage with these guys genuinely because i'm afraid they're just gonna call me stupid and put me on blast to their 8000 followers.

also how come every single member of the "dirtbag left" is a bearded white guy who writes/blogs in some way or fashion?

end dumbass rant

One of them took my twitter profile pic and blasted it to his followers because I disagreed with them. Whatever. I mean I put my pic up because im not ashamed of myself. They do NOTHING. Get active locally. Volunteer. Get on campaigns.

I do think they are incredibly out of touch.

While Mr. Comey did not go into detail, he appeared to be referring to a Russian-led attack on a contractor in Tennessee, Smartech Corporation, used by the Republican committee to host some of its websites and handle some lists of donors.

Federal investigators have said that a single email server used by that contractor had been penetrated. But it was going out of service and contained outdated material that the Russians probably found to be of little value. People with direct knowledge of the server’s contents said it had been used by Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain.

An aide in Mr. Graham’s office said the hacking of the email server in question occurred in June. The Graham campaign was using the server to send news clips and campaign releases, the aide said.

Note the two people who used the machines, Graham and McCain, the two people most likely to stand up to Trump. There's a trend here.

So what I'm saying is there's a chance.

a big stink over what Aetna's CEO said but not this:
Michael Neidorff, chief executive of Centene Corp., noted that more GOP senators are expressing deep concerns with repealing the Affordable Care Act without immediately replacing it.

"I don't think the Republicans even have enough senators at this point" Neidorff said at the JPMorgan Healthcare Investor Conference.

Neidorff also said that if Congress repeals the law's Medicaid expansion, it ultimately would make employer-sponsored plans pricier because hospitals would deliver more uncompensated care and pass the costs along to group plans.

Centene, which mostly covers people below 400 percent of the federal poverty level, has been especially successful in the Obamacare marketplaces. The company covers about 600,000 marketplace customers and more than 1 million members of Medicaid expansion programs.

Neidorff also criticized some of the replacement ideas suggested by House Speaker Paul Ryan. Allowing insurers to sell products across state lines would make it harder for consumers to appeal for claims by muddling which state authority they should go to, he said.

And he said that using block grants for Medicaid, an idea that would result in less federal spending on the state-run program, would hurt states with a growing Medicaid population but help those with a shrinking population.

Republicans need to take a second look at that idea, Neidorff said. He said that he doesn't believe Republicans are willing to bear the blame for upending the law.

Had a long talk with some turkish kids tonight while on duty. They just came back from break and are pretty bummed about what's going on there with erdogan and terrorism. They go to the clubs where shootings are happening.

Told them the US wouldn't be far behind

I've gotten to the point that I basically think Trump voters (we used to call them republican, btw, because that's what they are for the most part) are a bunch of pussies who were in such dire need of a daddy figure to keep them safe from librruls and terrorists and immigrants and blacks and gays and transgenders and the IRS and, dare I say, common sense, that they were willing to destroy everything that is great about this country. Empty-headed cowards. Their whole political philosophy is based on "please someone hold me I'm so damned scared."

It's one thing to promise to repeal and replace with something better than the ACA but it's wonderful to watch the Pubs actually try to create the alchemy necessary to turn lead into gold both practically and politically.

Maddow is going through some Brazilian state owned oil company and Exxon thing and it's depressing as hell how corrupt this world is.
