cball tell me if you find barley malt syrup. im not sure it actually exists given how impossible it seems to find. i just poured some molasses in and a little honey.

those look great. way more rise than mine. and yeah. i tried a few grocery stores initially and no one even knew what it was.

I went to whole foods! I could not find it with the syrups or anywhere in baking. The one employee who knew where a lot of random things were also could not find it. I will have to check Wegmans.

any home brew store has this in many varieties. You can also make your own from dried malt extract which is available in groceries.

The NYT link is the original recipe from David Chang, the korean kitchen one is her adaptation of his recipe.

You don't necessarily need to make the sauces and sides. The pork butt itself is very tender and can be eaten in any number of ways.

Looked into ordering a couche to make baguettes. Amazon estimate it would be delivered end of April. :(
