As for the sinkhole this is the closest to a legitimate website I've found writing about it. Since it was in Russia though, I'm waiting for the dashcam footage to confirm.

dang, forgot to grab the picture they printed for me before I left. Hopefully I can get it at my follow-up next week.

Went in for routine eye exam today. All the typical stuff, right eye is receding from LASIK 13 years ago, to be expected. Then at the end he looks at my eyes with a microscope.

I had a large 'foreign body' impaled in my right cornea. Hops on the phone to his buddy the cornea specialist, I hop in the car and head right over there. it's half-in, half-out, and starting to attract blood vessels, indicating it's been in there a while. Took a pic (you can see it's big but unfortunately the pic really isn't that gruesome), he nums my eye, sticks a tweezer in and pulls it out clean. Says it looks like a bug shell.

I can't even remember if I had any eye discomfort or pain. Probably, but these things happen so often you just wait a couple days to see if it goes away, and it this case it did. Everyone was amazed that it wasn't causing me severe issues.
